Really enjoyed this class and found content super interesting. I could've done without the group project but the midterm and final were very fair if you take the time to study.

Paul is straight-up the coolest dude. You can tell he's really passionate about the material, and it shows! Lectures are hilarious but interesting at the same time. He strikes the perfect balance between science and Batman. Evaluation is very fair, and he definitely wants his students to succeed. This is a course I'd recommend to anyone!

Zehr is very intelligent and enthusiastic about what he teaches. His passion comes across in his lectures and gives you concrete examples o f where the course content can be applied in real life, and why what you're learning is important. Very important class which will help you in future EPHE classes. Not the easiest, but the tests are fair.

According to him he is a leader in his field. He promotes himself in class a fair bit. The course is very narrow in scope and he spends a lot of time promoting his own research and his Super hero books.

He is definitely a step up from the Master's students he gets to teach the first half of the course. However, his ability to teach the course is terrible because he teaches it as a research based course, and most students who take the course don't want to be researchers like him.

Comment:
Motor control is definitely a challenging class. Trying to understand the mechanisms of control that the central nervous system has on our movements is the most abstract thing we learn in a science-based degree. I think Zehr does a great job of teaching this material. He is certainly VERY accomplished and is approachable and keen to help students.

Undoubtedly one of Uvic's most accomplished Profs--has written copious amounts of material on a subject only a handful of people r experts in. Very well spoken, humorous, but material presentation, by default, is abstract and vague. Lab component is very rigorous & the final exam is somewhat of a nightmare. U will learn a lot tho.

time spent explaining abstract concepts, ie why golf **** have dimples....no time spent on relevant interesting concepts dealing with biomechanics of movement. I learned very little in that class that will be retained

Just as the others said, he knows his stuff but his evaluation of student knowledge (test writing) is terrible. Never felt comfortable going into his tests. Recieved a B, honestly should have had an A-.
