If Kono didn't give such great lectures and wasn't so funny, I would've hated his class. His exams are tough and you have to remember a lot of information. No eating whatsoever or gum chewing or leaving the class for any reason is tolerated. He will call you out. Hold your pee! Be prepared to write fast. No pics of the board whatsoever.

Professor Kono is funny and overall does a good job teaching his lectures. His class is difficult but he does not test on anything he does not go over. If you study how much he suggest and aren't lazy or inattentive, you will get an A

I admire this professor for his passion for Geography! He is a very kind and caring person! He made the lectures interesting with his stories and he is super funny and sarcastic ! I recommend studying for hours in two sessions with a friend for his midterms ! I recommend coming on time, turning your phone on vibrate , & non disruptive ! Would take

Avoid like the plague. Taking his lab class with lecture was the worst mistake I've made. The two classes are completely different and he makes you memorize a ridiculous amount of work. You don't learn. I dropped and retaking the class with Professor Bayle and she is way better at teaching!!

By far one of my favorite professors, his lectures are great. there are quizzes/ exams but he gives Extra credit opportunities and drops lowest mid term. overall great professor very passionate about geography. he works with you if you show effort.

Loved kono! Hes the reason I became a geography major! Extra credit for perfect attendance. Took 4 of his classes. Wish he taught more so I could take him for all of my needed classes. Midterm and final very fair gives study guides. Hes funny and never boring. Put in the effort and you will get the grade you deserve!

He's a really great teacher, funny, and I really did learn a lot from him. It's a lot of work but he makes it interesting. The map quizzes are true, you need to study those for 6+ hours, if you like to work for your grade I suggest you to take him. He's tough but he's cool as a person.

Amazing professor. Passionate, knowledgeable, his lectures are hilarious. He covers almost all of the material in class and gives detailed study guides. Don't be late to class, especially on test days since he won't let you take them, but in college you should know better anyway. Not an easy A, but put in the work and take notes, you'll do fine! :)

I have taken geography classes before and loved it. If you want to play catch up and learn on your own, then this is the class for you. Random quizzes, numerous map quizzes, and also confusing and messy feedback for them. Don't be late or else you will get kicked out of class and won't be allowed to take the test. Is this high school or what?

Mr. Kono was a great teacher! My high school teacher recommended I take his class and it was the greatest choice! He is SUPER funny and keeps you interested. However, he does make you work for your grade, if your a lazy student looking to coast this probably isn't the class for you. You'll pass his class, just show up, take notes, and study!

Terrible. Makes you book a motel on your own if your group doesn't show up for the field trip on the day of. Irresponsible, insensitive and unorganized. if you don't have the money on the spot then you just failed the class and he doesn't care.

Forget it if you're a minute late, you won't take the test. Forget it if you have an actual emergency, you won't be excused. Map quizzes are ridiculous and difficult to understand once you've circled everything on it and be prepared to memorize a whole bunch of lakes, rivers, mountains, cities, countries, etc. Random quizzes too. Never again.

Prof Kono is hilarious and passionate about what he teaches. He takes attendance before and during every class. You must write down everything on the board during lectures and when he is talking. Must study 12-14 hours for test's and quizzes if you want to get a good grade in the class. If you want to learn, take this class.

Kono is a little tough but taking geography with him was worth the extra effort. Not very many homework assignments, which is nice, but the tests are packed with info--studying is a must. He is organized, a fast grader, and super knowledgeable. Also just a cool dude! I would recommend him for someone who actually wants to learn.
