Professor Wieland is an extreme rarity in the teaching world. She genuinely goes out of her way to understand each & every students learning preferences & makes it appoint to adapt the lesson in a manner that is effective for everyone. Unlike most math professors, she wont move on unless students understand & answers all questions with importance

Comment:

Don't take this professor if you guys want to pass. She's a nice professor, but she teaches everything way too fast! You have to go home & teach yourself how to do a lot of these problems. Also, she's not willing to help outside of class or email. Only time she'll help out is after class for a few minutes. Total 4 exams, reviews she gives suck!

I took her for PreCalc she made my life a living nightmare she made an easy class so dam hard for no reason I taught myself alot of the material. I went up to her so many times for help and just rejected me whoever rates her 4.5? is on drugs honestly she makes the exams so hard to pass even if you study 3 weeks in advanced. Overall, save your money

awesome professor. she's always checking in after each problem she does to make sure everyone knows what's going on and is happy to go back over it. she's not one of those professors that you get scared to ask questions to. do the homework and study guides before the exams and you'll pass.

Homework assignments didnt match up with tests at all. Wasnt clear when answering questions. Dont take this class. She was the worst professor Ive ever had.

I failed this class but it was not the fault of Professor Wieland at all. She was so supportive and tried very hard to help me, but due to work stress and an overfull schedule I just could not pass. She made me not feel so bad about it. Her lectures are clear and she answers questions well, me not passing was entirely my fault and not hers.

4 exams: 3 midterms & 1 accumulative Final. (+ some group quizzes) Precal is very Fast-Paced so you don't have much time during the semester. If you want to get straight As, you should do all homework and put much effort on reviews until you fully understand them. Prof. Wieland is nice woman. So just ask her if you really don't know some stuffs.

I saw so many good reviews about her here and I thought hey she was going to make my life easier with PreCalc and she made it a nightmare instead don't get me wring shes very nice but I dont need for you to be nice I wanted her to teach me and I ended up teaching myself the whole class and failing because she just went way too fast

Comment:

Prof Wieland is one of those gems you almost never come across in mathematics. Not only is she brilliant in her field, but she's a master at actually teaching the material. She explains concepts in a variety of styles to suit different types of people. Do the homework, ask questions, listen in class and you'll be great. Take her!

There is really nothing to add to her teaching style. Quizzes are in group and we don't submit until everybody in the group understands how we got to the answer. She has nice jokes.

Simply awesome. I really liked her teaching method: everything straight to the point. And you really need to put some serious efforts to do well in class. Never assume that this class is easy just because it is a freshman level math class.

Took her for Calc 1. She is quite possibly the best math professor that I have ever met. She gives a lot of homework but those problems are usually on the test. If you want a good professor who actually cares about her students, take her class!

She's a fantastic teacher! Explains things really really well. She gives out a lot of homework. If you do all the homework problems, I promise you will be well-prepared for exams. It seems that most people who have trouble in her class procrastinate, or simply lack basic skills in algebra or trig. But she does an excellent job on her part.

She's very challenging. Don't come to class without knowing everything, test are harder then homework assignments. Calc is not hard, as long as you have professor who's not going to make it that way. I wouldn't recommend. one more think. She takes off points on the test of every little tiny tiny error.

This was the only class I needed to get out of BCC, and she made it hell for me to even pass one test. She is a nice woman, but the worst professor I've ever taken. She teaches as if you know Calculus and her tests are ridiculously challenging. Took Saltwick after her and got a B+ no thanks to Wieland

She's not a bad professor, she just expects you to know everything, and Im decent at math! She does a good job explaining things and shows you lots of examples, but then you are surprised with hard questions on the test that she never really explained or went over. Regret taking her because now I'm stuck retaking the class again for a better grade.

She is a good person and I believe slightly autistic, the emotional excuses would not with her, I would not recommend her since recently she is trying to proof that she is a hard professor and her grading skills is awful.

Comment:

Only a few test all semester 95% of your grade including a final. If you don't study, or practice at least once a day you wont pass. Her packets are amazing. DO THE HOMEWORK and ask her questions on anything you don't get and she'll try and help you as much as possible. its either u fail or pass. no in between. take at your own risk. C-B
