Comment:

Professor Whitmore is a great teacher. You can tell he loves his job, he is not the one who tells jokes, he is mainly serious on everything he says. His test are difficult, but you are allowed to bring notes to help you on it. He gives homework every week and gives 10 point extra credit after every test. So do the extra credit and you should pass.

Comment:

Don't understand how anyone couldn't make an A in Prof. Whitmore's classes. Put in the time, do the homework, and, if necessary, do the extra credit. He lets you use the outlines and reviews with your notes for the exams - how could you not do well? Very methodical in presentation, not the most exciting lecturer but a great professor overall.

im an accounting major and found that his teaching methods are hard to understand. You can learn it its not that hard but his exams are difficult. everything is open book but it doesn't help if u dont understand the qs.

DONT TAKE HIM. I HAVE A 4.0 GPA AND THIS IS THE ONLY CLASS ILL BE GETTING A LOW C IN. His exams are open book but good luck with that. It's nothing like homework or class.

Professor Whitmore is a great professor. He points out specific pages that go along with his outline in class, reference those pgs. Take good notes during lecture. Ex's in class are identical to homework. Problems on test are similar to homework and lecture ex's. ALLOWS YOU TO USE YOUR NOTES ON TEST. Offers extra credit 10pts. Reviews before test.

I had him for Summer 1, to be honest he is a good teacher. But he only reads out of the book and does a few examples of the board. I would not take him unless he is the only one available. Good Luck!!! Most of class mates made a "C" , your better off teaching yourself.

Professor Whitmore is a fantastic professor whose expectations are clear from the beginning of class and who doesn't mind bringing students to task for meeting those expectations. His classes are very methodical and designed around rote learning, so if you excel in that kind of environment, you will do well. Gives plenty of extra credit.

Comment:

I've taken both Acct 1 and 2 and its amazing how clear lectures are and how all his examples are helpful. He provides examples for each chapter and only expects us to turn in Cengage homework assignments. He gives us the opportunity to bump up our exam grade with extra credits. He provides reviews for all exams and I enjoyed taking his class.

This class is very difficult and requires a lot of your time. I took the online class and the homework was not too bad, but that's after spending hours on it. However the tests are extremely difficult. I feel this professor did not give enough time on the tests for such difficult problems. I do NOT recommend this professor.

I took Professor Whitmore for Financial Accounting and he is one of the best teachers I've had so far. He makes things really easy to understand and will help you with anything if you ask him. He let's you use notes on the test. If you show up for class it really helps you understand the material better. Would definitely recommend his class.

Most of his lecture was reading the PowerPoint that goes along with each chapter. He gives a pop quiz after each chapter, so make sure you read the chapter before class. He gives reviews before each exam and they are pretty much exactly what is on the exam. This is an easy class to pass as long as you read the chapters and show up for class.

He explains things very clearly and teaches at a reasonable pace. I had no problems maintaining an A average in his class, although, you will need to be present for class, take notes, do the homework and study for exams. He gives reviews before each exam and allows you to use notes, handouts andor homework. I will be taking him again.

Professor Whitmore cares whether you pass or fail. He honestly made the class so easy and interesting that I am changing my major to accounting. He's funny in a quirky quiet way. He definitely commands respect though so don't take his kindness for granted.

He is easy going and the class is easy as long you do the homework and you MUST study and practice. He explains the material in class very well and goes at a pace you can follow. He encourages questions and class participation. He goes over the review, test can be challenging but he does offer extra credit. Good for anyone who works full time.

I took a different professor for 2301, and was very lost. I decided to take Whitmore for 2302. Everything is well explained, Cengage assignments go over the same things you did in class, and you can use your notes and the review and test. His multiple choice questions can be tricky. He grades really quickly, knew my grade same day as test.

Nice teacher! of course you have to show up to class to get the lecture. Every week we had a chapter assignment due (3 chances to pass it) Lets you you use your notes, outline, and the chapter assignments on the tests!! Extra Credit for every test! textbook is a must. & definitely taking him for ACCT 2302

Had him for both Acct Prin. I & II. He is very helpful but you must do the work and show up. Probably better to take in class. You will need your book. Good test review worksheets and can use notes for tests.
