Good content, extremely unfair grading. The professor starts with 100 and with every test and paper, you just have the points subtracted from 100. In other words, there is no way to bring up your grade. I hated this grading system and will be getting my first B in graduate school because of it.

Took the summer version. Had to read 23 books in 2 weeks. Learned so much about different authors. Pretty useless when my concentration is 8-12; nevertheless, he is a great professor and is very knowledgeable.

His tests can be tough, you have to make sure to take notes on literally everything. On the one page papers make sure to use arial narrow (or a small font) size 10pt and use very small margins .5 or smaller and use codes for the titles of books. he expects a lot from these very small papers! Otherwise this is a great course he is a great professor!

Dr. A is awesome! He is really passinate about his class, and it pays off because you learn so much from him. The papers are easy to write, and his tests are over the books you read in class so you need to know your stuff! People complain because its too hard, but its not if you just take the time to do the work. I earned my grade.

Dr. A may be the best professor I have had so far! I learned a ridiculous amount in such a short summer session - I do not recommend taking it in the summer because of the extensive core reading list. However, I would not want to take it with anyone else. His enthusiasm is infectious, he really cares, and I earned my grade!

I love this professor but his tests are tricky! There are multiple occasions when the more than one answer would have been correct or the answer he says is correct is so abstract and incorrect it makes you not like him! I learned a lot but didn?t deserve the grade I got.

You can get an A from this prof. You'll have to work for it, sure, but the thing can be done, and he'll help you do it. Ask specific questions about the kinds of things he's looking for in the papers, he will tell you. I made a C on the first paper and A's on all the rest, and am no writing whiz. Just pay attention to what he says.

Class is fun and you'll learn a lot about children's books but he grades very hard. The one page assignments are impossible to get an A on and all three add up to a test grade.

Nearly impossible to get an A. Must master the 1-pg. assignmnents. You'll work in this class but you'll fall in love w/ reading all over again and will learn more than you can imagine about children's books. Knows his stuff. His enthusiasm is contagious
