He does talk a lot, about random things, but yet he manages to tie in with the readings from class. He assigns journal entries, i think like 4 a week and a couple of papers. it's not so bad, his class does get boring cause he talks about literally anything in regards to him, food or politics. just do the journal entries and papers, then you're ok

Worst English professor ever. Rambles on and gets lost in what hes saying and starts talking about his ex wives son who lives with him and his dog. Theres no communication between the class and him, he lectures the entire time.

He talks on and on and on. You do 2 or 3 essays, nothing no one can't handle. He sidetracks a lot when he talks. He doesn't give any homework, and he doesn't give tests or quizzes. He doesn't make you read books, the most you'll ever do is watch a movie and read some poems. He doesn't take attendance. It's an easy A as long as you do the essays.

Will go off topic in his lectures and gets distracted. Funny although some might not get his dry humor. Do his journals and papers you'll be okay also gives you a midterm and final which aren't hard at all. He's very understanding if you have any trouble just meet with him he'll come up with a solution.

honestly one of the best professors I've had in this school. Yes he will make you work and read and write papers but he's a fair grader and if you do your work and hand in your journals you will be fine! plus he makes you become interest in Shakespeare need I say more? by the way this was a summer class.

He definitely talks a lot and is funny; if you arent social or dont want to hear lecture, then this class isnt for you. Otherwise, hes a very smart man and has a lot to say about life and will help you if you ask him. Just make sure you are an adult and keep track of the things that you need to hand in (4 papers+Journal); or else you'll fail.

Professor is really boring but, if you do the few assignments he gives you'll be able to pass. It's a few essays and a journal you have to write in the whole semester based on the book or film being talked about in class. goes off topic often. hands papers back very late. Attendance not mandatory.

Forget about this being an English class. It is more like Comeau 101. You will learn all about him, his friends, his life, and his political opinions. He demands a lot of work and puts little work into teaching his class. Save yourself the headache and the money, look for another professor.

I thought I was in a public speaking class where we learned about politics and the professors personal views of corruption in the U.S. government. Then he'd expect a paper due and I'd remember we were in English class. Very boring class and material is irrelevant. Professor is not helpful at ALL. RUN while you still can!

Very good and very understanding. He does not assign homework or give tests. He assigns about 4 or 5 papers a semester and a journal that you must write a page in about 4 times a week. It is very important to show up in order to complete the journals because they have to be written about class discussions.

Long lectures on content irrelevant to english. Be prepared to have his political inclinations shoved down your throat.

He pretty much talks the whole time. He doesn't take attendance, he doesn't seem to care if papers are in on time, he takes forever to give papers back, and he's suuuper vague about assignments. It was just plain boring more than anything else. Most papers are 3-5 pages with about 5 total essays. Easy, but I wasn't inspired or amused 90% of it.

Get ready to sit and listen to the story of his life, mixed with a misconstrued understanding of the readings and what's going on in the political world and his thoughts on that. Not the worst class in the world but definitely not something to look forward to taking. Tough grader get those spark notes ready if your not american literature savvy.

Professor Comeau is brilliant. Very well informed on William Shakespeare. He definitely knows how to lecture but it's up to you to dissect what needs to be written in your journal. If your not prepared to work do yourself a favor and stop occupying a seat that would otherwise be useful to someone to someone who does.

I honestly would not recommend this professor to any student. He's alright, but talks a lot about random things. There's no homework, except for the journals that he'll pick up around the finals and midterms. The only time we received a test was for the midterm and final exams. THAT'S IT. just like someone else said, if you need an easy A, take it.

Wouldn't recommend this professor. He spent more time talking about politics and personal subjects than actually teaching the class. If you have to take the long lecture sessions, be prepared to listen to him reading the book word by word. Also, be prepared to write an awful lot.
