One of the most respected BIO professors at ASU. A lot of work is given in his class, but its helpful and prepares you for the exam. His lectures are filled with stories he integrates, which makes it fun. Attendance is mandatory and quizzes are given weekly, but if you show up and prepare, you should be good. Participation matters in this course.

Dr. Dowler is an excellent professor! You will have to work for your grades but making an A is completely possible. He genuinely loves the subject and it shows. He is also friendly and helpful outside of class.

I've taken every class that Dr. Dowler teaches and every single one was straight forward and interesting. He is an amazing professor who explains things well and always makes himself available even though he is probably the busiest biology professor on campus. I would take his classes again just for the fun of it.

My all time favorite professor. He's very kind, helpful, and passionate. No matter which class of his that you take, he makes them as interesting as possible. I wanted to go to class everyday and truly enjoyed his lectures. He's an all around cool guy.

Great man and an equally great professor. Very clear and very helpful. Can be scatterbrained from time to time but he still makes sense. I'd take another class with him any day. Class is always interesting and he tells plenty of good stories. Class material is hard, it's not his fault, promise.

Zoology is an awesome class with an awesome lab. The lab practicals are killer and the exams tests are very hard. I love this stuff and made a B+. I was very disappointed, but I tried my hardest. I studied like a mad man. I would take another class with Dr. Dowler and Dr. Maxwell anyday.

Evolution class was really interesting. Pretty easy if you have a large science background behind you. Tied together all the biological concepts together. He is a good teacher but a bit disorganized when it comes to grading papers.
