Comment:

Professor Hampel is great! He really cares about the material. There are 4 tests, they're pretty easy because you're allowed 1 sheet of notes front & back (I typed my notes so I fit everything onto 1 page) & I never really studied before the tests (plus he gets everyone snacks before tests!). There's a final paper (no exam) and that's pretty easy.

Comment:

Professor Hampel is literally my favorite professor!! He is so smart and funny. He makes every lecture interesting and lets you take a one-page cheat sheet to every exam. He also brings snacks for exams! Hampel records every lecture so you don't have to go to class. He is definitely a gem and I would strongly recommend taking his class.

Such a wonderful professor. All of his lectures are uploaded onto UD Capture, so if you miss class, not a problem! He brings snacks to all of his exam times, and sometimes will give you what questions are going to be on the test. Professor Hampel loves his subject, and even though the class is non-mandatory, I never want to skip his class! Love him

Such a chill teacher. Interesting lectures that are all posted online. Awesome class structure with 4 exams and one paper that is very interesting to do.

One of the greatest professors I've had here, he is so sweet and caring and really does the most to make the lectures interesting and relatable. Definitely need to prepare for the exams, but it's really cool material. You are also allowed a front and back cheat sheet one exams which helps so much. Best professor and class, 100% recommend

This guy is awesome. Prof Hampel loves his students and cares so much about the history of American education. Class included 4 exams and one 6 page paper (easy). He brings snacks for every exam! This is an awesome class to have at 9 am, plus the lectures are on UD capture. Definitely take this class with Hampel!

I love this man. He cares so much about his students and seems like he really just loves to teach. Took such good care of my class all semester, including bringing extra pencils for us and snacks for us on exam days. Everyone should take him at some point, I have never felt so cared about by a professor. Class was super interesting, too!

Comment:

Every review is the same, so it's clear. He's genuinely such a nice man and clearly loves what he does. He brings snacks to each exam and smiles through every lecture. Just make sure you get the notes, exams are so straight forward and one paper at the end of the semester is worth a lot, which is nice as long as you write what you're asked.

Comment:

There's two textbooks with a fairly heavy amount of assigned reading, which you should definitely do because you won't do well on the tests without it. However, he lets you bring in a sheet of paper (front and back!) of notes for each of the 4 exams, making them very easy. The only other grade is a paper which was not hard. Very nice man, 10/10

Professor Hampel is the sweetest professor at this University. He is genuinely passionate about what he teaches and cares for all his students. Attendance is not mandatory for this class and everything is on UD Capture. He brings treats to every exam and constantly has a smile on his face. 10/10

Comment:

Most amazing and sweet professor. He loves what he teaches and he makes class really interesting, and I usually hate history. Lectures are online so you don't have to go to class bc he doesn't take attendance. You get a full sheet of paper of notes for exams , and there's no final, just a paper you have to write.

This is definitely a good history breadth to take! The one thing you need to know, is that you have to either go to class or listen to every lecture to get an A. His tests can be super specific, so as long as you type most of what he says onto your cheat sheet, you'll get an A. Make sure to at least skim the readings! Great guy, great professor

By far the best professor I've ever had. He is so intelligent. The class is not hard at all, it is on capture, test are easy and curved and you get a whole page cheat sheet. He brings snacks to the exam. Be sure to skim the readings because there are questions on the exams about it!

Takes a subject that could be extremely boring and makes it intriguing through lectures with videos, music, pictures, and stories. Nicest guy, brought snacks before every exam and makes sure he lays out the format for each test so there's no confusion. Allows a cheat sheet front and back for each exam. Would definitely recommend this professor!

This class is easy to take, and Dr. Hampel is super nice! His lectures are really easy to follow because he puts up the segments you should be taking notes on with headings on the board. You have 4 exams and 1 paper, but for all the exams you get to bring in a cheat sheet, and the paper is interviewing someone about their schooling. Super easy!

Dr. Hampel is very nice. He doesn't take attendance. You can skip this class no problem because it is on capture. There are 4 exams and an essay and that makes up your grade. If you listen to the lectures and take good notes on what he says you should do fine. He lets you use a cheat sheet for the exams.

He is the nicest man in the world and genuinely cares about his students and what he is teaching. Class is lecture heavy but they are interesting and full of information. 4 exams based on the books (which are annoying to read) and his lectures but you're able to bring a front and back sheet of paper to the exam.

Attendance not necessary as long as you are willing to listen to the capture. Take notes on what is said in class and you will pass each exam. Paper front and back of information able to be brought to the exam. 4 exams, 1 paper, easy A. he's the cutest man ever and offers a lot more office hours before the exams.

The lectures were interesting and professor Hampel is very sweet. The exams were fairly easy and he allows a page of notes for every exam. There is a final interview paper at the end that I actually enjoyed writing!
