Comment:

Serpas is a great teacher and I've definitely gotten better at Spanish. Get ready to share your opinion in this class and get ready for him to challenge you on it, depending on what your opinion is. Also his guidelines for the bigger projects can be unclear at times but if you ask he will gladly clarify.

Comment:

Sr. Serpas is a great professor. In his class participation is expected even if you're not the best speaker he will never give you a hard time. If you are wrong he will simply clarify any confusion and move right along. I highly recommend his classes to anyone who is looking to improve their Spanish skills.

Serpas was a great professor. As long as you show that you care about the class and try to participate (no matter if your grammar is perfect or not), he'll respect you and be more than willing to help. Pretty easy grader as long as you genuinely try.

Comment:

Serpas is an amazing professor! I had him for both 311 and 312w and I am so sad that I won't have him teach my other Spanish courses. He really cares about his students success in the class and is very understanding as long as you communicate with him. He is also very funny and makes class fun he also doesn't make you buy a textbook. I recommend!!!

Serpas is one of the best professors I have had. He wants you to succeed and pass his class so he will work with you to make sure that happens. There are tests every week but he will tell you exactly what you need to know.

Professor Serpas is an incredibly genuine and caring professor! You can tell that he wants his students to succeed. There were no big tests in his class, just a small quiz once a week. If you participate and do your homework, it should not be hard to pass the class. I would definitely recommend taking Serpas!

Comment:

Serpas was one of the best language professors I have ever had. While at first I thought he may be strict, I found him to be an extremely open, respectful, and encouraging professor who would facilitate conversation in a way I have never experienced in a Spanish classroom before. Participation is important, but he makes it easy to be involved.

Serpas is an amazing professor! He is caring, funny, thoughtful, and helpful. I enjoyed his class, and I would love to take a class with him again. His lectures are interesting, and he is clear on what is expected. There are no surprises in his classes (test wise). He will tell you when the test are and what they will contain. I 100% recommend!

Profe Serpas is an amazing teacher. He really cares about his students and just wants you to enjoy the class. Participation is a big part of your grade but as long as you attempt to speak in Spanish and show some effort you will be fine. Overall, awesome person and great professor. Would highly recommend!

While attendance isn't mandatory, its best to go to class. He's super flexible with dates and if you forget to do an assignment you can always turn it in a day late for full credit. He expects only Spanish to be spoken in the classroom, but you can get away with speaking English. Overall he's a great professor and super helpful.

Serpas was a REALLY great instructor. His class gives a great overview of the tenses and he explains new concepts very clearly. He won't move on if the class doesn't understand. As long as you speak in Spanish during class, take notes, and read the short novel, you'll be fine. Homework can be tedious but ultimately easy. Definitely take Serpas!

Professor Serpas is the best teacher I have ever had. He is dedicated to his students and teaches concepts in an easy to understand way. Easily the best Spanish professor at NAU. I absolutely loved every single one of his classes (granted, I love speaking Spanish). He is so incredibly organized and knows exactly what he is doing, not to mention he is a great guy. To say I would recommend him would be an understatement.
