Comment:

I've had Dr. Moukhlis 3 times (360, 300B and 320 online). In each class, he was extremely captivating, approachable, and also funny at times. He sets very clear expectations and tells you what you need to do in order to succeed. Attend class, pay close attention to his lectures, ask questions when you get confused (300B especially), and you're set.

This online class and teacher are both amazing! I had no idea what to expect. I chose it because it fulfilled the credits I needed. Dr. Moukhlis gives amazing and PROMPT feedback. Honestly all you have to do is read the weekly chapters, respond to her questions and participate in the discussion boards every week. That's it!

Comment:

Loved the content of the class, very eye openning of the Muslim religion. I took it in the summer so it was very fast paced. Theres reading and video screenings every week. For the final, you get to choose like four questions to answers out of a six question pool, and they are material that has been touched on excessively so it was very fair.

He's a good teacher. The class isn't easy, so don't expect it to be a walk in the park. But his lectures are interesting and he really does care about his students. He knows we have lives outside class and respects that.

This course is NOT for the non-literature major. I took it as part of another authorization, with no foundation. Dr. Moukhlis is amazing. He is knowledgeable, straight-forward and clear. The content was, by itself, difficult, especially as a non-lit major. However, I learned an amazing amount and do not regret taking the course. Would recommend.

Really really love the reading materials, textbooks and books for this course! He's so so nice, smart and funny! Please take his classes and learn about the theories of orientalism, marxism, structuralism, etc! so fun!

Cant understand. writing assignments where we have to answer questions from the notes. He never actually goes over those questions. He just expects you to know the answers after he lectures for an hour about the notes. But he never refers back to those questions for the writing assignments. Worst professor. will never take a class with him again.

Preferred LTWR professor. Provides all necessary materials and more for his students. Encourages class discussion and manages to break down interesting topics/issues. Most humble and yet most well prepared professor in the department by far. Do your part as a student, and he shall do his as a professor.

His power points were full of typos and looked like they were made in five minutes. His lectures were dry and uninspiring. The material was outdated. Very little guidance given on the grade-deciding final paper, and I'll never know what I got on it because he never posted grades.

I'm not saying he's a bad professor but he is not good either. It is hard to get an A in his class even though the assignments you turned in are mostly A's. I feel like he doesn't really care about his students, at least when I talked to him he didn't seem to care.

If you are taking him for a 3 hrs class rethink it. He talks all most of the time. I love literature but his class taught me little. Books were interesting. Just sit in back if you really need to take the class. For 1 hr class he is better. Still boring.

Dr. Moukhils is amazing. Had him for 460, 300A, and 300B. Completely fair grader, great lecturer, and really cares about you as a student. Only thing with him is that he is a HEAVY lecturer. If you don't like sitting and listening and prefer class activities, don't take him. Few papers and a midterm and final. Awesome and easy going!

He's narrow-minded and has a strong agenda. If you present anything that opposes his views he'll indefinitely make some disconnected rebuttal that only serves to squirm away from the response. I thought it was odd that he promoted there being an endless amount of interpretations to life, but acted as if his was the only correct one.

I liked the class and liked the teacher. He's really a pretty cool dude and I'm taking him again next semester. You can tell he really doesn't like grading hard as everything was Credit or No credit except 2 tests and the final paper. I definitely advise taking him!
