Knows her stuff. 20 years later, I feel that she's had a positive impact.

Comment:
Prof. Thompson's Evidence class was simple enough for me: I read most of the material once and went to class. But most importantly, I listened to most of the lectures a second time. She records the lectures and puts them online. I just listened, paused the lesson as needed, and made good notes from the lecture. It's not too difficult really.

Class attendance is a must - a lot of the things she said in class were on the exam and were not found in the text book. Nice lecturer - not too tough on you if you are wrong. Exam was all multiple choice and a little tricky.

Had her for evidence. It went really well, and she's very respectful, helpful, and clear. A word to the wise: doing well here requires both doing the readings and going to EVERY lecture and paying attention in class, because the evidence cases can be hard to follow (but Thompson did a really good job explaining them).

Lectures were pretty disorganized and the exam was ridiculous. Overall, I regret taking her for evidence and wish I had just learned it all with Barbri,

Comment:
Sweet lady and all, but her lectures are sometimes disorganized. Seems to let the class get away from her quite a bit. Still, I liked her easygoing style & friendly attitude a lot more than most law professors I've had. I thought I aced the exam, but wound up with a B- (my lowest grade so far). Go figure! *shrug* :)

Terrible. Every class was utterly disorganized and if there was a point to discern, it never materialized. She's about as nice as they come, but still incompetent.

She seems a bit out of touch and "Ivory Tower" but she brings in guest lecturers who are real working lawyers and that is wonderful. She is nice and respectful of her students, something that other law professors can't grasp.

Sandra is one of the worst professors I have ever had. I earned an A in her class, so these comments are not out of bitterness. She lacks knowledge of the subject-matter, and she shows little interest in the students and in the course itself.

For being a native Texan, teaching TX Crim Law in a TX school, was surpised how little she knew the details of TX Crim Law. (Her DA experience was in NYC and law degree from Yale.) Has integrity and is nice, but needs work on socratic method and subject.

Those who expect preciseness and clarity in the law will not like this class or the instruction. This class is defintitely one of competing principles and values.

WAY too nice to be a law prof. Too wishy-washy to be effective.
