Great teacher! Just show up for class and do the work. She is extremely helpful, and is willing to help anyone who asks for it. Definitely take her!She is not an easy A but you will learn a lot from her and can make a good grade if you put a little effort in.

Honors class was great. The reading was a lot, but fairly spread out. Tests are easy if you read. Writing notes/ideas helps with exams/essays. Fair grader, doesn't take much off for minor errors. Won't hand you a grade if you don't follow college writing rules. I'm ESL & got As, though I have to spend 10x more time making papers good than Calc hw.

I know that I am a better writer because of Dr Matthews. I understand grammar and punctuation better. Her class was everything I had hoped for in the college experience. She demands attendance, hard work & original thinking. She loves her subject & seems to prefer students who 'get it'. She makes an effort to help you get it, though, from day 1.

straight up irritating. you need to know exact quotes and who said it for exams/quizzes. class is boring, but it was Am. Lit 2 so theres not much you can do to liven that up. dont ever be late, plan to be early it'll save your grade. papers need to actually be good to get an A, shes picky. do the reading, pretend to be interested.

Coming out of high school Dr. Matthews is a very easy teacher. I got an A on my first paper and a B on my second and third one. There are few essays which she clearly explains what she is looking for. Very nice and keeps students on our toes with exciting topics to write and discuss.

I did not like her at ALL! She teaches class like an elementary school teacher, but grades papers like a grad teacher. Her class was boring, TONS of reading, and she was mean to students and rude. I regret taking this class, she didn't make it interesting at all.

She is very helpful with essays if you have questions. Love the way she grades essays because for the first two essays, she calls it "portfolio". which you write two essays and u can revise as much as you want after she grades it and you can turn it with the best revision. Definitely recommending her.

I took her in an honors course and was very pleased with her class. She's a stickler for being on time! Dr. Matthews was super clear with assignments (what she wanted and when) and was very fair with her grading.
