I found that he was a great prof compared to what others say about the other first year chem profs. He is a good lecturer and I feel like I learned a lot from him, although he can be boring at times.

I was in browntown for both CHEM112 and ENSC103. People complain he's boring but *HE IS THE BEST FIRST-YEAR CHEM PROF*! Super chill guy willing to answer questions. His far greater Orgo Chem knowledge (he teaches 3rd yr orgo) is critical for 1st yr students. TAKE HIS CLASS! In ENSC103 (bird course), he filled his slides with his photos of birds.

People complained that he was boring, but he was a good prof. Explained everything well and was available after hours. He goes a good pace through the material. This course is alot of high school knowledge. The lecture slides tend to go above and beyond for what is tested.

People complain about Brown, but I liked his ideas and lectures. It's important to pay attention in lecture and get down side notes, because he expects you to know that for exams. However, his slides are wordy and he never gets through them (which is frustrating for some people!)

I loved how he always tried to tie what we were learning into something with practical applications. I also love how he took time to go through questions with us during lecture. It was really helpful.

He is the sweetest, most helpful person in the entire world. He saved my entire degree, and he is so prompt with replying to e-mails and following up on things. His notes are very thorough, and he explains things very well. He is so generous with his time, and he tries really hard to get people interested. I LOVE HIM!

The material of the course didn't succeed in stimulating me. The lectures didn't help me understand or learn very well either. More like being talked at than to. Most of the content was brand new to me, but i felt that i was expected to know everything already.

Overall not a horrible prof, but soooooooooooooooo boring! He's the cure for insomnia, I swear. You can basically learn just as much by just reading his notes by yourself than going to class.

If he didn't read everything word for word from his slides, he would be an ok prof.

Spends too much time on information that is already in the textbook, doesn't seem to elaborate well enough...

His notes are clear and helpful when studying, but lectures can be very boring and more confusing then needed. Also notes are not generally up in time for class.

Worst prof I've had all year. Not only does he makes things so complicated, he's extremely boring. His notes are never up on the web on time which is really annoying. I learned more from the TAs and textbook than I did from his lectures. Definitely missing Baird!

He really needs to learn how to teach. He's a bright enough guy, but it doesnt help that he gets stuck teaching the math portion of the course, or that he tries to relate everything (and I do mean everything) to environmental chemistry.

Class boring, makes material more confusing than it is - it's more useful to read the text than go to class. He's a nice guy, but Baird should teach the full year! Material not hard, though.
