Smith is a very good artist. lots of favoritism. Crosses line of professionalism with student/teacher relationships. Good at networking, but unfortunately most of his contacts are retired/outdated. Hates technology. Great with fundamentals of ceramics. Entertaining and humorous. Didn't teach application of skills post graduation.

Professor Smith is definitely sticks out at DC. Some people find him to be a bit "odd", but I always enjoyed his classes. I've had many of his classes (Art History, Ceramics, Metals, etc.) and have learned quite a bit. He seems to teach from actually hands-on knowledge, as opposed to regurgitated facts from a text book. Great Professor.
