Obviously going to be a tough class since it's a capstone. Boring lecturer, political, but okay personality-wise. Lots of work - you will be working everyday on CAPSIM, papers, test prep, etc... and his grading system is whack. His bedside manner is 5/10 and doesn't teach the material rather just glosses over semi-related material during classes.

Comment:

Dr. Williamson is hilarious! However, if you don't like sarcastic humor, you shouldn't take him. Boring lectures. 45% of grade is exams based on text - so read the book. 45% of your grade is CapSim related, so read the instructions. 10% of your grade is Exit Exam. Refreshing to have a libertarian view rather than the usual liberal college stance.

Worse teacher possible. I do not want the easy A but he isn't even an easy C. He does not care about his students and makes them feel like they are stupid. I would not recommend him. His online lectures have nothing to do with the test. He is dry. He is rude. Just do not take him. He barely puts grades in. Not worth it.

Comment:

I found the required textbook online for free, and found some practice questions online which helped tremendously for the exams. The Capsim was fun, but time consuming. You can find tips for Capsim online. READ the syllabus! The professor is very experienced in his field.

Hands down the best policy professor. He really cares about his students and does everything in his power to help you pass. You pretty much have to try to fail. Number one tip is to get a good group for Capsim. 2.4 is not a fair rating AT ALL. He's a 5

Comment:

One of the better professors at Coggin College. If you're taking policy you cannot go wrong by taking him - in fact I feel fortunate for having done so. Class consisted of Capsim and exams. The exams are based off the reading. If you read, you should pass the exam. What could be more objective and straightforward than that? Model class.

Overall I really liked the professor. He is a funny guy and likes to tease his students. He asks questions during every lecture. His class lectures were not very helpful for the Exams, so be ready to read the book in it's entirety. The material itself was very easy.

Pretty nonchalant about the whole teaching thing. The edgiest guy teaching at UNF. Pretty hazy about requirements and expectations, but by the second half of the semester the workload for the class is finished.

This guy shouldn't be teaching anymore. It took him 30 minutes to tell us a story about UPS. Well, later that night, he repeated the story all over again. Not useful, Mr Slick should be shown the door.

Cool, super smart, and very real world oriented, i.e. not an ivory tower type that's all about stuff that sounds good in theory but doesn't actually work. Sharp and biting wit (fun class if you're not uptight). A LOT of work in the first half of the class. Lots of open discussion versus simple book study plus regurgitation, so come prepared.

I didn't learn much about the subject in his class, but no doubt that was fun, and pretty easy. It seems he does not read students' papers (I just hope they were not totally useless and his grad assistant read it...), but at least getting A is extremely easy. Want knowledge - choose other teacher. Want fun - get in his class.

I loved this class! His lectures were interesting and he keeps you on your toes. As long as you don't take him too seriosuly, you won't be offended by his comments. We had a lot of work in the first 1/2 of the semester but it eased up for the second 1/2.

Cool guy, interesting & funny. My experience was nothing like the negative ones posted here. You can tell he likes the ladies, but was very fair and unbiassed in lectures and grading. His "real-world" lectures were refreshing and not stuffy textbook stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed the class.
