Comment:
The only thing that I would like to say about Malakar is that he lacks ability to explain the lecture properly. The way he talks, as if he would to forget that he is explaining it to other people. You can pass his class, but expect the need for outside assistance.

Sections are covered WAY too quickly. He consistently scribbles illegible notes on the board and speaks in such a low tone, it's hard to hear a lot of what he says. Note taking is near impossible to keep up with and he expects students to have a firm grasp on all the concepts he is covering even on the first day of class. DO NOT take his class!

Very bad professor. He teaches like students know everything about math. He uses very difficult teaching method. Learning online is much easier than sitting in his class.

Very very bad professor. I'm a hard working straight A student and I've never encountered a professor this bad. He mumbles to himself while teaching and skips many steps of new problems during the lectures. His test and quizzes are significantly more difficult than classwork and homework. He does not care about your future or helping you succeed.

He's a great teacher for math minded people. So not me. Showed up at his office hours but he was rarely there or on time, ask a question,he speeds through explaining it. Tried to ask advice for tutors and such- he knew nothing of that. Once he saw me struggling I was put on his back burner of students. Failed even though I was supposed to transfer..

The homework load was insane and half of it wasn't even on the tests. Tests were always significantly harder than the homework or quizzes he gave. Don't rely on his practice tests as they gave little insight to what was on his test. Majority of lecture was spent on proof opposed to the material he was proving. Not fit to teach a precalculus class.

Professor Malakar lectures as if the student knows the subject already. I spent hours at the math lab, studied 2 hours each day, but that wasn't enough! The average score for the first exam was 32 out of 50, which says a lot.

Professor Malakar is indeed a great person and a good teacher. But to get A in this class, really need efforts. His teaching isnt very clear for me so get ready to read by yourself. If people ask him questions, he will make you clear. 5 Quizzes which arent hard and can be done in home. No extra credit and no curve. but if u are 89.5, hell give u A

Professor Malakar is a really great professor. Stasitics is a hard class, but he goes over the information very slowly and makes sure you understand it. All the quizzes are take home. Two projects and 3 exams and a final. His exams are exactly like the quizzes he gives out so no surprises. Must come to EVERY CLASS! show up and will get a good grade

Can be kind of boring sometimes, he mostly teaches from the book, but he does a good job explaining the material. Homework is very helpful. Tests are straightforward, no tricks, same sort of stuff as the homework. Very thorough in responding to student questions.

This guy is great. His lectures are clear and his tests are predicable. He is monotonous, but he answers every question and shows enthusiasm in responding. Not many math teachers reward their students with positive attention when questions are being asked. Calculus is just not an easy course, but hes easier than any of my other math teachers.

I'm currently taking his class and am having trouble. The class average for the first test was 29/50, and he doesn't curve. This shows exactly how the teacher is. Don't think I need to say much more. Try and find another teacher. I read these reviews and ignored them and I am now suffering the consequences.

If you want a good grade, CHOOSE ANY OTHER PROFESSOR!!! You have been warned. He gets angry when you ask questions and it doesnt help that you cant read his writing. I learned more from my textbook and youtube than in class. The five semesters ive taken here at SMC, I can honestly say that he makes this class harder than it should be.

Very Hard. I am usually good at math, but found this class impossible. He doesn't explain things well, and is so smart that he feels like everyone should naturally understand. Only 10 kids were left of 50 at the end of semester. Only teacher to use his book, so you can't go to tutoring sessions.

I had Math2 before, and compared to others, he is a good professor. Very organized and helpful. Not easy grader, but tests are fair. Unlike others, he doesn't repeat the material from the book, but gives a different view of subject, so you have choice of either learning from lectures or from the textbook. If you do both, it's even better. Take him.

It was not the class for me. I am generally a good student, attend all lectures and do all of the HW. I still recieved a B in the course and our class only had 14 student take the final.. I have since taken Math 7 with Askarian and felt a world of difference in content presentation and teacher interest in teaching the subject

He's a fair professor. If you take good notes, you will be in good shape for the tests. The quizzes and exams come directly from his notes. Homework is mandatory and it's worth it because it helps a whole lot with the exams.
