Comment:

I am graduating from EMU in a month as an English major (4.0) and she is the worst prof I ever had. She is unclear of what she wants in papers, especially for an entry level class. Flat out rude. She told me "English isn't for you, try something else" when I was in her class as a freshman and I can't wait to show her my degree and teaching career.

She is a fair grader if you do what she asks. She expects a lot from her students but only because she wants to make sure you are the best writer you can be. Make personal connections with her and do all of your work and you will do great.

She has very unclear objectives for both exams, papers, and presentations. All of which are like the only real grades you get. Relies on the book for everything. She wants the class to read every night and you basically teach each other. She doesn't lecture at all. She will test you about things that we didn't even cover in class. Just dont do it.

This class was a joke. It seemed like she copied and pasted old assignment instructions without proofreading. Most of the time it was difficult to understand what she wanted from us. I never really knew what to focus on for my papers, which was annoying because there were so many of them. Please find someone else to teach you!!

I would not recommend this class to anyone. I dropped this class half way through when I decided all the work I was doing was not worth the grades I was getting. Grades very hard, very unclear on what she is looking for. Many students in my class have gone to the dean due to her lack of actually teaching. I have taught myself throughout the class.

I don't think I understood my work more than a once or twice. She doesn't give clear instructions and she was very rude. If I asked for help I felt like I was being told I was stupid instead of getting help. I'm honestly surprised I managed to pass. She didn't seem constant with her grading, I felt like my grade depended on her mood that day.

I thought I would post after reading the opinions of other students who had this professor, but my stance is much different. My experience was that the information needed was clear and she was always able to clarify and help students individually. Homework was assigned every session, which never took more than 10 minutes outside of class.

Took English 101 Class, I believe this class would not be nearly as difficult as it was if the instructions were more clear. I really am surprised I got a 3.0 online. To top it off, my final GPA submitted was completely wrong because she didn't post one grade correctly and it was almost a full grade point off, good thing i caught it.

This has to be the worst teacher in the world, do not take any of her class unless you want to fail. The assignments are ridiculous does not give clear instructions at all, she doesn't even teach the class you basically have to teacher yourself. You have a better chance at winning the lottery than getting an A in her class.

I have not had a more frustrating experience with an instructor. This woman grades more harshly than my 400-level professors at state university. She does not include a filled out rubric when returning grades, so the grades received have no explanation beyond a brief comment.

I've never posted on this website before but had to warn students how bad this teacher is. She is not clear on anything and is very disorganized. Very few things are graded which isn't good because she is a very hard grader. I don't know of one person in my class that has an A. You have to attend all classes because she's so unpredictable.

This is hands down the worst class I have ever had. She not clear what so ever on your assignments her expectations are way too high. She got upset because students were trying to work ahead so she limited what work we could now forcing us to do lengthy assigments on a short amount of. I would not recommend this teacher to anyone.

Changing careers, back in school, need of a few gen eds I didn't have in undergrad. Have both BA & MA degrees, with honors. I STRUGGLED to get B+ in this class! Instructions in different places on Blackboard, often were contradictory. Huge amount of work for a 3 credit class. Non-uniform grading. Couldn't imagine having her right out of HS.

In my opinion, this class would have been great with another instructor. Her directions were not clear, she did not give reasons for grades, and finally I was given 4050 pts for my final reflection about my favorite and least favorite stories. How can I get 10 pts off for my opinion? Her only feedback was rude.

DO NOT TAKE HER. Worst teacher I've ever had Extremely hard grader. With online classes, if the prof isn't organized that travels down to the rest of the class. The final straw was when she had in the schedule "Do thesis activity" with absolutely no reference to what the activity was ANYWHERE. Dropped the class then and there.
