Susan Ries is one of these annoying saleswomen that invites herself to other people's lives. Nothing more to say than that.

Going to Loyola was a stepping stone, can't figure out whether if it was a paramount experience to move on to further things or not. Overall, instructors quality of teaching isn't as good--you DEFINITELY get what you pay for. Currently at a different University prepping for another school, pretty stoked.

Dr.Reis is an super nice as a person. I don't know who the people that said mean things about her dealt with but I think she's a great advisor and person. She never met me in person prior to our meeting couple months ago and was extremely helpful and nice. I would go back to her for any help in a heartbeat.

Loyola's tuition is well over $30,000 a year, you would expect an advisor to be more personable. If you need and help in anything that pertains to Loyola seek out assistance from some one other than Susan Ries.

Never had her as a teacher but she is probably the worst person ever. I think she's out-lived her time at Loyola. It's unfortunate that her life never worked out as planned, but I think she needs to be replaced!

Easy class. Kind of a lot of writing, but the assignments are easy. She teaches str8 out of the book, but you still have to go to class and participate a lot. Get in her good graces and you'll be golden. Open book, open note exams are easy but you should read the material 1st if you want to get an A

she's liable for everything that you do wrong in this class, especially if she prefers others to yourself, and all of a sudden you find yourself with horns on top of your head, or something.....

She has favorites, dry personality. But class is ok overall. Open book tests are easy. Group project. Essays are a pain- lots of criticism. Class participation is a MUST. Open your mouth at least once a session if you want to keep your grade up.

Extremely overrated as a professor. While short essays and open book tests are a joke, her lectures are straight out of the book, but she still makes you go to class. Class participation is way too much of the grade.

Let's just start by saying ries is a !#$@! in person. She's supposed to be nice, but she's not. I really wouldn't listen to these other recommendations b/c everyone in my class this semester hates her passionately. She picks FAVORITES bigtime and also picks enemies!Should be writing intensive :(

You can't fail this class, however it is extremely difficult, especially when you write essays. You could understand everything in class, but you really need to know the book thoroughly and intelligently to get a decent grade on tests and to be able to answer questions in class.

Great teacher, very helpful. Open note/book test, but don't let that fool you, be prepared to find answers. Grades somewhat difficult on writing assignments. MUST PARTICIPATE IN CLASS OFTEN!

dropped day 1; seems hard b/c must be good writer/speaker/ & tester to do well: group project and presentation (100 points), 5 short papers (50), class participation (100), and midterm and final (150 each), and somehow she gets 500 totals points from that
