Horrible. Found myself having to tip-toe around her whether it's in class discussions or writing what she wants to see. There is a rotten side to her that could become apparent and by the time you realize this, it's too late to drop her course with/out a W and you find yourself tip-toeing to survive. Avoid like the plague for the sake of your GPA

Her lectures can be a bit boring and even though she posts them online, they lack content since she mostly speaks. They still help provide surface level interpretations, though. In reality, the people that do everything in this course are the TAs. They're the ones that facilitate the discussions and grade your work. Some are tough and some are ok.

Really interesting lecture content. Always approachable and ready to talk in office hours. Clear about homework and what's to be done. Accepts others' interpretations and views, and always finds something intriguing to talk about.

Not the most interesting lecturer but she had some good insights if you can pay attention. There were a couple book report typa things and a presentation which help bring up your mark. Got higher on my essays than I thought I would.

Pretends to accommodate differing interpretations and readings. She only accepts analysis and critiques that happen to be the same as hers otherwise you get your grades docked. In the same way, she pretends to care. You've been warned for your own good.

Really friendly and caring prof. Her grading is pretty fair for the most part. Formats her midterms and finals differently from the norm - it's short answer and some passage analysis, so you mostly just need to repeat what is said in class. Attending classes is definitely mandatory to pass - she takes attendance and gives reading quizzes.

I wasn't going to rate this prof, but seeing the teacher's pet rating and comment below, I have to disagree with it and rate Ms. Anger with a big fat FAIL. I also found her way too sticky, close minded and intolerant of others' readings. It really is all about her interpretation and she masks it up to project otherwise. Avoid her, totally!

Much too sticky and inflexible. Has the propensity to educate her interpretations and expects hers to be accepted by default, under pretense. Pay heed to the "parrot parrot parrot" comment below. Sends out your email address to the class without first seeking your permission. For a top university, its a surprise that UBC still retains this prof".

Amazing course! There were interesting readings and coherence throughout the whole semester. She really likes when students participate in her class. You should do the readings prior coming to lectures and memorize key terms related to the texts. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend taking her 110 lit course. I had a good time!

Her readings were interesting and not overly complex. In-class discussions were at times long, but mostly engaging and enjoyable. The teaching assistant's are the most important part of the course as they do all of the marking and lead the discussions. Attendance for lecture not mandatory, but recommended. Attendance for discussion mandatory.

This teacher is obsessive in trying to stop her students from "googlingsparknoting" Designs her FINALS EXAMS and weekly quizzes on using "specifics quotes from the 6 novels studied" --The readings are a lot but you can't read ahead, because she will assign pg. 10-50 then pull a quote from pg. 11, and asks how did we discuss this in class?

Talks a little fast, and gets frustrated when students don't participate in class discussion, but is very interested in her subject and incredibly knowledgeable. Friendly, responds well to requests for help. Unscheduled quizzes to keep you on your toes, and 5-minute presentations by each student. Would take her class again!

Good Teacher, incredibly hard marker. Only cares about HER interpretations. Make sure you "memorize" quotes she mentioned in class and how SHE described them or you will do terribly. PARROT PARROT PARROT, dont use your own brain! --to do well, not an easy marker. Will give you zero over partial marks

she expects lots of discussion, and you have surprise reading quizzes, so you really have to be caught up on reading. she is very approachable and nice! ! exams don't include essays, just short answers and recognition/significance. she's a very fair marker too!
