Ted is passionate and genuinely caring. Physics can be difficult but he explains concepts clearly. His worksheets prepare you for the quizzes and he gives practice exams before every test. He's got a LOT of dad jokes up his sleeve and he definitely loves a conversation. He's affable and makes class fun. Overall, a good human being and a real gem.

Ted is a great professor he does a really good job of preparing his students with his worksheets. You never see anything on an exam or a quiz that he hasn't already shown you. He goes on tangents, but everything you need to know is always on the board. All you have to do to pass is just try.

Ted is probably one of the best professors I've taken in college. He genuinely cares about how his students do and will do his best to ensure that he can accommodate for students who can't make it to class or even can't turn in assignments on time. Quizzes and tests are difficult but he gives past tests to help study which is very helpful.

Ted IMO is THE BEST prof I have ever had. He genuinely loves physics, which makes the class more interesting. He is extremely knowledgeable and will take many hours to teach you until you fully understand the material. He is very transparent about what he expects and grades according to very specific rubrics. Truly an amazing prof, much love Ted.

Physics is no joke. This class can be hard at times, yet if you attend lecture and read the book you should be OK. HIs tests are similar to the homework and he is accessible outside class. Overall I feel prepared for Phys 130.

He's super organized and cares about us. The tests are pretty hard, but if you do the worksheets and homework you'll be prepared. He lets us do group work for the worksheets, and write reports in pairs. My whole study group got A's, but we had to work for it. PHYS-121 wasn't that hard after taking Walker's PHYS-120.

Don't take him if you want to pass physics. Awful teaching style honestly. Lectures are all over the place & don't make a lot of sense. Quizzes every Thursday and hw doesn't prepare you at all. If you ask him for help during labs or problem solving days, he tells you to ask other students. Basically a self teaching class. Don't recommend him at all

Tests are worth 15% of your grade and that's where most of the points are. If you do poorly on a test you don't really have the option of saving your grade. Lectures are mostly just solving problems at a rapid rate. I would recommend a different professor.

Ted is great. He really takes the time to help you with material to make sure you understand it. He is eager to help. He is very clear with you on day 1 on how to get a good grade in the class. Tests are curved, very fair grader. His 129 class is excellent prep for phys130.

Ted's a very inspirational teacher. He spends a lot of time doing worksheets, which helped me a lot. Grades on a curve. Quizzes every week, but, for your final grade, he either counts your quiz score or hw score. HW is mastering physics. The textbook really helps. Go to his office hours for help with lab reports. He's very funny and caring.

Ted is a great professor! Most of my learning came from the worksheets, don't need to read the book or do the online hw. Great and fun lectures too! Grade based on quizes or hw, worksheets, labs, 3 tests, and a final. Quizzes and tests are easy and based on worksheets. BEWARE OF THE FINAL! It's not based on tests and quizes but on the lecture.

Mr. Walker will prepare you for the physics series like no other professor at DVC. He actually published the (worksheets) curriculum for the PHYS129 course. Pay attention to his lectures, ask lots of questions, and take good notes in class! His tests are on the same material as the quizzes and worksheets. Beware: Ted can talk a tangent all day.

Ted's 129 class is a good prep for the higher level physics. The class is not super difficult; topics maybe difficult when they are first covered but he has you prepared for them by the time you take the exam. If you actually study for the exam they are not hard to get A's on. Also he prompts a lot of group work which really helps.

Ted's 129 class is a good way to prep for the calc-based physics series, with many of the same subjects but a much gentler grading curve. Ted is very clear in his lecture style, if you are taking notes in the class, you won't need to go through the book, except for HW. He will also introduce more difficult concepts with a worksheet in a lab.

He explains materials conceptually and with clear examples. He encourages students to think by asking questions during lectures. His lectures are not boring because he likes to tell jokes. Tests are quite easy. Weekly quiz. HWs are online.

I took him for both 120 and 124 during fall 2013. HWs for 120 were online, you can easily find answers on web. He gave out quizzes every week and they were related to what u learned last week. Tests were ok, if you study hws and notes you will get pretty good grade. If you A's all tests you will not have to take final.

Comment:
I couldn't believe how subjective the comments can be. It all depends on each individual who once took his class. Many people think his homework is hard, but actually, the homework is not required, which is something that I preferred, because I can ace an exam with just reading the textbook.
