To be quite frank, this class is a joke. It is poorly structured, awkward, and does not match the 4000 level. There is significant overlap from her Molec cell class (3800). Her slides are scant and her instruction/lecture is not delineated. Her quizzes do NOT match her instruction/slides at all. As a person she is friendly and positive. I

This class was super easy if you're really good at memorizing powerpoints and whatnot (which is what I did since I never showed up to lectures, and only came on exam days). The powerpoints are just like the exams. There is an online launchpad where you would have to take quizzes for a grade and she drops like THREE of your lowest quiz scores.

Compared to students of other classes, her students know far less information on molecular cell. We never learned certain chapters and the ones that we did we didn't know too much about because her powerpoints are not good at all even when using them for the quizzes/assignments. She lectures on and on about her personal life and nothing else.

Relates the material to the real world. No exams are dropped and final exam is not cumulative. Sometimes the lecture, comes off as unprepared. TopHat is rarely used. Weekly quizzes due on iCollege and writing assignments due before each exam(4). Sometimes she has cool interactive in-class activities.

The grades were mostly based on tests. It was a large lecture setting, you could either go to class or SI sessions.

Great professor. She explains complex concepts in a manner that's easy to understand. Also, she relates topics learned in class to other areas of bio and everyday situations, which really ties together your overall understanding of biology. She's absolutely hilarious at times and relates well to students, so class isn't a complete drag.

Professor Poole is pretty cool, but about 70-80% of the time she reads off the powerpoint that are already posted on iCollege so there really is no point showing up unless you're okay with being that guy who asks their friends what they did in class every other day. Tests are kind of difficult but don't try to cram and you should be good.

Prof. Poole, is a easy going teacher. She make Biology interesting. Just study power points & lecture notes. Exams are majority multi-choice but have short answers too. There's 3 exams and a optional cumulative exam. Grades for class and lab are combined so that why I got a C+. My overall lab grades were low. I wish she was the lab Professor!

Dr. Poole is an okay professor. Her tests are all short answer but as long as you go to class and review her powerpoints you should be okay. She does allow for extra points on test at the end of the semester by completing group tests. Overall I wouldn't mind taking her again but be mindful of the type of student you are.

She was actually a really great professor. I was expecting this class to be hard, but she has a teaching style that is so enjoyable and as long as you come to class, you'll do great. Even though I'm a BIO major, I don't really like biology, but I really enjoyed her class. She even lets you turn things in days late!

You'd think she's a lil crazy at first but she's very nice and super sweet. Unorganized but tests and quizzes are easy. Go to class and the SI and take notes. Only 2-3 hours of work put into this class per week honestly. On some tests, she let you complete it on your own then re-do the same test w a group for extra credit.

I would not recommend her. She is sincerely a good person, but showing up late for classes and exams that students pay hundreds of dollars in tuition towards is very unprofessional.

Many people in my class weren't a fan of her, but I found her hilarious. She is definitely frazzled and all over the place, but she makes the class easy! She offered a BUNCH of extra credit. Powerpoints are online. and assignments are clear. She's very understanding and easy to work with. Not sure how prepared I am for bio 2, but I got an A!

She is highly knowledgeable about her subject. With a Ph. D in oncology and multiple specializations, its impressive. However, she takes her time to grade the class work. 3 exams plus an optional final to replace a lower exam while not lowering your grade if it lower than the others. No serious papers. The lab exams are fill-in-the-blank.

I checked RateMyProfessor before I registered for her class and I REGRET NOT LISTENING TO THE WARNINGS! I'm a fairly organized student who usually makes high B's-A's and I thought I could get away with Dr. Pooles lecture style but I couldn't. I'm honestly not sure how anyone makes an A in her class. I will never take one of her classes again.

Dr. Poole is a cool woman, but not a very good professor. I struggled in her class, as did my classmates. She is very unorganized, and does not really seem like she knows what she is doing. The tests are only over the powerpoints and lectures, so as long as you can teach yourself the powerpoints, going to class is optional. Doesn't take attendance.

Dr. Poole is probably the best professor at GSU that I have had, besides my gen chem professor. She teaches in a way that builds the material, instead of a linear "textbook" fashion. She doesn't conduct research at GSU, so she is there because she loves to teach (which you can tell). This was my perfect summer class and professor!
