He's a funny professor he knows his stuff. The only real issue I found was how he graded his things he purposely doesn't give 100s. But I recommend him over all the other com101 professors.

He's really serious about penalties for skipping class, 2 absences allowed all semester no exceptions. tough but fair grader, you'll get the grade you deserve. don't expect any hundreds though. Very participation heavy class and deadlines are ALWAYS closer than they appear here. Super quirky and takes time to get used to but I'd take him again.

He is an okay teacher. Way too unprofessional for me. He is constantly making the girls feel uncomfortable and giving the middle finger to the guys. He throws in a "trick" on every quiz to basically ensure you that you won't get an A. If you take him for honors he will make you memorize a speech that you will later have to say in front of the class

This was my favorite class of the semester. Bovino was always funny and keeping you interested and involved. His quizzes aren't the easiest but if you take notes you'll be fine. His mid term and final were pieces of cake, he tells you everything on it and gives you the actual part 2 questions, he also gives you the answer. Best professor.

You will certainly develop public speaking skills in this course. Thom taught aspects, guidelines, and rules for public speaking very well, thus making it an enjoyable learning experience. Put in effort and a good amount of practice into your speech preparation and you'll be fine. Hard work and practice will ensure your success in this course.

Definitely a great professor but a very tough grader, an A is tough in his public speaking course. Sort of wish I took Comm for an easier grade but it is a rewarding class it's just super tough.

hes a good teacher. hes really funny. more like a friend then a teacher so it works out. he helps you out alot and doesnt ask for much from you. tries to make it interesting for you since theater is pretty boring. good guy overall!

Bovino, I honestly would recommend him, though i promise you, no one gets an A. Tough cookies. The class teaches you how to speak publically, and if you take the notes/ advice he gives you, there will be no problem. Just as a warning he can get awkward at times, so just pointing that out, decent but ****ed jokes. Good luck now!

took him over the summer.for communications had us do 2 speeches 1 was solo and the other was group speech he video taped our solo speech it was fun to watch it and show my family anyway People are just jealous of you Tom you may curse alot and be a little cocky but hes got such a strong personality hes a actor and he just cant help it

Bovino is by far the worst teacher/professor i have ever had. He is the toughest grader and is extremely arrogant. He teaches barely anything, then gives speeches and a test, assuming that all of his knowledge of speaking has osmosed to your brain. He's rude, raunchy, and a waste of a good job. This is not a recommended class by any means.

Everything an English professor should be! I took him for Public Speaking last semester and he taught us on a standard which far outweighed the perception some people have of the degree of education you receive at a community colleged. Kudos to SCCC for their professors - they're top notch!

I had him last year. He was unprofessional, especially the way he dressed. Found out he was head of the department and was very surprised. I would think the college would have someone more professional in that position. He has a goofy sense of humor and seems a bit conceded. He thinks he is better than he is. I would not recommend him.
