Be ready to work hard and connect real-world economic problems to the theory with algebraic formulas. The professor gives a ton of materials! It is on you to read, learn, and comprehend it. From my experience, I would recommend reading materials before the lecture and get aware of what is happening in the world. Financial Times will be helpful.

He reminds me of my grandpa, old school kinda guy. His class is tough because although he obviously knows his stuff lectures are pretty dry and therefore make it harder to learn the stuff. Grading is composed of 50% midterm, 50% Final. You have to read the book and study if not you won't pass.

As a professor, he is the worst, but as a class, if you just wanna show up to get the extra credit for the class and then study his lecture guide and practice tests then you should be able to get a decent grade. Both tests are curved. Don't buy the textbook, you can get by through showing up to class and studying the materials he provides.

No review before midterm and final that are 50/50 worth of the course. Attendance counts for extra points towards the test. Tests are difficult and lectures are hard to follow. He's pretty dry and doesn't seem to stay on track a lot of the time. You will have to read the book and teach yourself to pass.

Comment:
Kind of inconsiderate with how he manages the course.. always tells class if he never gets to a chapter it'll be on the test anyway. This is discouraging considering it's a 3 hour class and he can't organize the material correctly. Expect 8-9 chapters PER test. Very unorganized, dry, and not helpful. Lots of tangents. No class participation.

Rude and boring professor. Dismisses questions by students. 50% midterm, 50% final. Take this class just to read the book.

50% Midterm, 50% Final. Half a percent extra credit for each class you attend. If you go to class, pay attention to his lectures, and take decent notes, you'll be fine when it comes to the midterm and final. There are really no surprises on the tests. If you tend to skip classes or not pay attention in class, you'll grades will suffer.

Old school 50% midterm 50% final class. Between the 5 points of EC for attending class and the curve you get bumped up about a whole letter grade on each test over what you would've got. Material can be tricky but nothing too challenging. Study his handouts and study guides religiously and you will succeed. Book is a plus, but arguably optional.

I basically paid DePaul tuition to read the textbook. Lectures are exactly from book content, and extremely boring. Go through the study guide, read the chapters and you will get an A. If you actually want an insightful interesting perspective, do not take this class.

Mondschean is an old-school, no-nonsense professor. You drink from the fire hose in this class. Great for econ majors; others will struggle to keep up. Intermediate macro is not a prereq but should be. Typical class is half discussion and half lecture. MC quizzes every other week. Tough exams. No calculus. DO NOT SKIP CLASS. Read the textbook.

Overall pretty boring professor. Class grade is 50% midterm 50% final, extra credit given for each class attended. The tests are non-cumulative but require extensive reading from the textbook. Overall a pretty mediocre professor, not the nicest or exciting. Read the book and attend all classes and you should do good.

The lectures can be boring if you're not interested in economics. 50% midterm and 50% final, both of which require a good amount of reading from the textbook. He gives an extra credit point on the exams for every class you show up to, so attendance is important.

ECO 315 Money & Banking's grading scale is 50% midterm & 50% final. Therefore the exams cover a lot of material. GET TO STUDYING EARLY! You can NOT wait the night before to study. His slides cover high level topics out of the textbook , therefore he expects you to read the textbook. He adds attendance points to your test score.

Prof. Mondschean is one of the most knowledgeable ECO professor in DePaul. He is an expert in financial policy, banking. Instead of regular form of PPT teaching, his lectures cover a large range of topics regarding to the banking system. Midterm and final are take-home essay, a presentation is required as well. Take him if you love economics.

This class was ok. It was rather boring and the lectures were not the most exciting. It wasn't a difficult class as long as you study the handouts. Midterm and Final are both 50% of the grade. Not bad overall but I'm glad its over.
