Me and my classmates will always cite him as the best teacher of financial accounting that we had. I don't think I would have been able to do nearly as well in the later accounting classes if I hadn't had him for Intermediate I. His teaching style allows you to fully understand the concepts and actually retain them for years to come.

Noland is an absolute gem. He is definitely the better professor to take for this class. He will put in his best effort to answer your question. The class may be quite challenging, but he teaches it in a perspective where it does not seem hard at all, just a bit of studying is all it takes. Loved the atmosphere in Noland's class #NolandForMVP

Noland is a great professor. He will answer your questions and is willing to explain the material further. The only thing that's unfortunate about the class is the quizzes. They're due over weekends and take forever to complete.

Dr. Noland is a seasoned professor who knows how to clearly explain work-out problems. He is clear on his study guides when it comes to tests. Do all homework on quizzes.... they will help you prep for tests. And... study ALL work-out problems reviewed in class and know your journal entries! Tough class, but GREAT teacher.

The best prof I've had at UH! He is very thorough and really wants students to learn. Intermediate Accounting is a hard class but he makes it manageable. Study his powerpoints and do all the suggested problems on the exam review. He drops the lowest homework, quiz, and the test is out of 110 points.

Noland was entertaining and actually did practice problems that would be on MyLab homework so it was useful. Acct itself was hard for me but he did his best. He's also very helpful to students, so don't be shy about asking him questions. Good luck!

well the acct class itself is very hard. However the tests are all standarized for all the different teachers. I think noland is the best teacher to pick because he explains well. He doesnt spend class time going over powerpts but spends it doing and expalining the hard problems and concepts in the book, which i really liked.

Good and nice teacher, but class are kinda boring. You have to study really hard in this class if you want to make a good grade! The final in this class is the best (replace the grade with the lowest tests). Clickers & participation really helps!

Noland is a great guy. One of the most down to earth and laid back professors i've EVER had. sometimes he will have a cool activity in class to make things fun. He writes his problems on the board, so to see the question being answered you will have to have it in front of you

Well Accounting is how do i say it, accounting. Noland is a regular intermediate accounting prof but this semester he decided to teach financial. But he's fantastic really good at explaining topics and seems like a good guy&very informative about the subject. He's pretty entertaining but as someone said he does sound like Ben Stein(Clear Eyes guy)

He is nice and funny. He does kind of sound like the clear eyes guy and it makes me fall asleep. I think he would be better teaching higher level courses. This was his first semester teaching intermediate and I maybe learned 1-2% of the info in class. I think there may be more clear acct intro professors. Nice and helpful though I am struggling.

Best teacher there is for Intermediate I. Study for quizzes! Do problems in the book over and over! I didn't do either things and that's why I got a C. Project takes awhile to do but pretty easy. Just looking up def. in the Acct Codes.

Noland is the best for INT ACCT I. Arrogant? No way! In fact, he's very humble, interesting, funny and practical. He tells you what you need to know. I got a C+ because I failed to study for the final (entirely my fault). Listen to his lectures and do text problems. Then do them again. And again. You can get an A with him if you want it bad enough.

Noland is overrated, but he really does care if you learn the material. Book use is very low (i.e. borrow it/go to the library to read it). 2 tests, final, a project, and few homeworks. The 'curve' can't even be called a curve! First test average was like 40%, but only 5 points added. Int. Acct. 1 is hard overall, so study, its departmental exams.

This is an extremely intense class - Make sure you do well on the project - it takes about 15hrs to complete and STUDY for the quizzes they can make or break your grade. You must do ALL of your homework problems to do well on the test. Noland is very passionate about accounting, and will put tricky questions on the exam!!!
