Dr.Claer is an OKAY teacher he tends to get mad easily and wants to drop for you for reason that you shouldn't be dropped for. He doesn't know how to handle pressure but his class is easy but I would not recommend him to anyone he is very annoying and tries to treat you like you a elementary student.

Dr. Claerr is an excellent professor, he really knows his stuff. He explains things well. If you take notes and pay attention in class, you'll have no problem passing his class. Tests are pretty easy too. Take him if you really want to learn Spanish! You should have no problem getting an A in the class.

DO NOT BE LATE TO CLASS. Seriously, he will make you sit in the "corner." Other than that, his class is easy to follow and he is American meaning you can understand his Spanish very well. His tests are pretty much IDENTICAL to his study guide, meaning you have no reason not to get at least a B- on the tests. :)

Dr. Claerr is a great teacher. If you take notes and pay attention in class, you will have no problem passing. He likes to teach a lot about the culture. I never took Spanish before and was nervous to take it, but Dr. Claerr made it so easy to understand. And, his reviews are just like his tests. I strongly suggest that you take his class.

He is truly an asset to HFCC! He is not a native speaker which is a plus to those who are actually trying to learn the language because you can actually understand what he is saying in spanish. The tests are exactly like the review guide, but he does not really go over the review guide to often- make the effort and go to his office, he will help!

I transferred straight out of High School to his 232 class and didn't learn much in the way of the language. Learned a lot of culture. Gives a study guide with basically all the test answers, only need to memorize. Always cuts off his students. He's very educated. Easy A class, but not effective if you REALLY want to learn the language.

okay teacher. homework is check twice out of the semester. Be very attentive to the syllabus and dont be late or he'll sit you to the side of the class like a child. he can get a little confusing with lectures and he focuses more on finishing the book then making sure we know the language. i lost interest in spanish after this, but easy class

Comment:

One of the easiest teachers at HFCC. His tests are super easy and he is the fairest grader. There were so many times when I thought that I failed a quiz but end up getting an A on it because of how laid back he is when it comes to grading. He gives you outlines for the tests which are exactly like the test. His outlines are the test, study them!

Dr. Claeer is EXCELLENT. He made lectures crystal clear and interesting, made himself available for additional help and made you appreciate not only the Spanish language but also the culture. I wish I could take him again. He is an HFCC asset.

Overall, this class was very easy. However, it can be hard for people learning a different language for the first time. Dr. Claerr was very helpful. He had review days before exams which pretty much gave all the answers on the exam. It is very important to attend class and participate.

This class is very easy, especially if you have prior knowledge of Spanish. He does tend to favor the people who are just learning, but he's really nice. Tests and finals are easy. I just wish i would have been able to start off in the second year lvl.

Dr. Claerr speaks & teaches Spanish with such ease. Plus his knowledge of the culture was a bonus. He's willing to help individual students...just ask. I will definitely take his 2nd level SPN in the future. He teaches the material, recaps the material & reviews the material before each quiz. Pay attention x 3 = a good grade ( . )

Doctor Claerr is a great professor! I admire him for being a non-native speaker. He's great and helps you learn how to use the vocab to your advantage if you run into someone who speaks very little English. If you take this class, you should try out your spanish at a local mexican restaurant. Study Guides = Test... Very helpful!
