Dr. DeBlack is an AMAZING professor, VERY knowledgable on the subjects, and his class was very interesting! He gives quizzes almost every class day, just do the reading and you will make good grades on them. Also fill out chapter reviews they are very helpful for exams! I learned more in this class than any other I had this semester!

Great professor! Reading assignments every class for a quiz but they are max 12 pages. Usually only takes about an hour to read or skim through to get the big important details. Gives you a study guide before tests with a map and posts power points on blackboard. Easy A if you save 1 hour to work on his reading/studying. No projects or group work.

This class was very tough for me. He assigns reading every night before class usually 12-30 pages. You have a quiz when you walk into class every day. On his tests you will have 50 minutes to write a full essay, answer 50 multiple choice, label a map, know paintings and their artist, know current events, and match peoples names with their quote.

I had to drop his survey of American history class. Huge study guides for every chapter. Tests are too long for a 50 min class- always has map, fill in the blank, essay, and 50 multiple choice tests in one test. Don't take this guy. He's nice and his lectures are normal but tests are ridiculous.

Don't miss class or you will miss a lot of information, and it's important to get ALL the information. His lectures are interesting, but his tests cover way too much information and are too detailed. I studied as hard as I could and always made a D or an F. I had to drop his class.
