Comment:

He gives lots of homework but again gives us at times up to a week to complete. Really nice guy, his class may seem super quiet and dry at times but what do you expect its math. He has his funny moments, but BEWARE FOR ANY ERRORS MADE ON THE WHITEBOARD CAUSE HE MAKES QUITE A FEW AT TIMES. Very nice and caring, would take again.

The amount of homework in this class is insane! About 200 math problems per assignment! The tests are okay, the final is the hardest thing ever. Not an easy A!!!! He will drop you in an instant if you miss too many classes. Funny at times, but don't talk too many times!

Comment:

Professor Triebwasser would tell us to be wary of "careless" mistakes on tests yet made them frequently when going over problems. There are no study guides except for the final but he does offer extra credit and gives tons of opportunities to receive enough points to pass throughout the semester. All in all just an ok professor.

Great math teacher, would definitely take again. Very clear, takes a lot of time to answer questions, covers everything in class and tell students exactly what to expect on the tests. Very patient and helpful.

I think anyone who says this guy is bad should quit school. He's the easiest math professor ever. Explains everything in detail, if you don't get it, ask. He doesn't mind spending more time on things people are struggling with. He does give a lot of homework, but if you attend class you'll be able to finish it no problems. Definitely take.

Comment:

Very helpful Professor. Assists students with questions after class and provides students with everything they need to pass. We covered the entire textbook in 6 weeks and completely understood all the concepts. This class was low stress but informative and useful. He provides students with every chance to pass the class.

I don't recommend taking Stats/Prob in the summer! It really needs to be taken during a regular semester. Prof T is a nice guy. Dry-witted. Make sure you read the book so you understand his lectures better, otherwise you will be lost! His tests are difficult but very straightforward. As long as you do the work and not miss class you will do fine.

Comment:

I took this teacher for a 2nd time after I took him for Math 120. No regrets. He has this dry wit and makes the class interesting. He's completely helpful. You will have to work hard but he will help you if you ask for it. As for stuff mentione above regarding his errors and going fast...well, sure sometimes but he slows down upon being asked.

It was a pretty fun class but only because he makes jokes and the people in my class were funny. He's a nice guy and means well, but is not very helpful at all. He talks very fast and does math quickly in his own head without explanation. Often makes mistakes on white board, needing students to correct his mistakes.

I thought he was a great teacher. It became my favorite class. I always considered myself horrid at math but I worked hard and he helped me every step of the way. He encouraged me. I only missed one class due to illness. Attendance is absolutely mandatory and you must study, do homework, etc. If you put in the work, you will get rewarded.

I'm not sure what all the complaints are about. I think this teacher is amusing and he explains things clearly IF you pay attention and come to class. Come to class, read the text book, do your homework and labs and the tests are fine. He gives you problems that appear on the test and magic words for extra credit. I really enjoy him.

Pretty cool professor - explains concepts thoroughly, never thinks that a question is stupid, will clarify anything. Goes over problems in class, sometimes goes over the tests with us and gives us a few answers. Only problem - makes a lot of mistakes while lecturing/answering questions, but he is a good teacher, helps concrete concepts in our head.

Trieb has been unfortunate to have me 3 years almost (Including High School). He gets directly to the point and will do examples. If you're there to fool around or talk, he will toss you out. He comes across as very strict but he both demands and gives respect. He will treat you as an adult if you're willing to learn.

No planned material, just does examples from the book. During "lecture", everyone will be clueless, then someone says "shoudn't that be a 3" and the entire problem is changed. Make that same mistake on an exam, he will ding you major! Also forgot to teach us a topic on the exam twice! If you take him, use youtube for lectures.

He does not beat around the bush. Has a good sense of humor and the class is fun. He makes many small errors in lecture, but overall he knows his stuff. He is patient and enjoys helping you get the solution. May not be the best at lecture--but other teachers have been exceptional at lecture, but I fall asleep in the class.

I'm amazed at all the rave reviews. I found Trieb. to be the most unhelpful, unclear math teacher I have ever had. In short, if you don't mind teaching yourself math he's the teacher for you.

He's a great teacher! It was a fun class at times. He's approachable. He always make sure that everyone understands the given instructions/reminders/lessons. Spend a day for you to ask questions before the test. He's a big fan of nfl and the like!

My advice is to take him. He's kinda like your cool uncle you can drink a beer with at the family BBQ. He does care, the people who trash him on here are just bitter. I totally did not get a great grade, infact I barely passed! Not because of him. Math is a hard subject. He will draw out every question you ask him to. He's a great guy!!

He is nice and funny, but strict. His way of teacher is sort of bad. It's hard to pick up on the new stuff he tries to teach us. It takes a lot of help from other people to understand the class.
