Bailey is not understanding and v impatient during office hours and when u have questions. DO TXTBK Problems for sure

I did not agree with his style of teaching organic chemistry. He is incredible for some people but if you prefer a more organized approach instead of looking at piece-meal problems don't take him. He makes the material unnecessarily hard, and you can learn just as much with a different professor. I retook and got an A with another professor. Avoid.

Bailey stresses understanding over memorizing so if you're worried about orgs being insanely hard because you'll have to memorize everything, think again! Attendance isn't technically mandatory, but if you want to get a good grade and understand everything, you need to go to every lecture. Do Every problem in the book!

Dr. Bailey is my favorite. He's like your crazy grandfather. He teaches O-Chem better than anyone here, but it's no cakewalk. You need to work for it. D not skip lecture. Do EVERY problem in the book, and study after every class. Go to review. His lectures are funny, comprehensive, and concise. He'll teach you to think critically like nobody else.

If you can take Organic Chemistry with Bailey, definitely do it. He teaches it better than any other professor at UConn and honestly you learn so much. It's no walk in the park, but if you listen during lecture and put in the time, you'll actually come out feeling like you know OC. He's one of the best professors I've ever had.

He's the best prof at UCONN. pay attention to what he tells you on day one: put in the time - get an A. That's it. The course requires work, a lot of work, but you will maater orgo from this guy.

Dr. Bailey is one of the best professors I have ever had. On the first day of class he warns you that if you do not approach the class the right way you will fail, but if you do, you'll get an A. Listen to him, put in the work, and by the end you will be utterly amazed at how well you understand organic chemistry.

This is the hardest class I've ever taken in my life. Bailey is condescending and laughs at people who get questions wrong. He doesn't use the internet at all and if you want a question answered you have to walk to his office. He says he could teach this to a child and berates us for studying wrong. He's smart but he makes the course miserable.

If you read and do ALL of the problems in the textbook (just get the regular book, no need for the online code) you'll be able to get an A. He says that all the time, but it's really true. He's a good teacher, and seems to adore what he does and likes to see the class do well. There are 2 review session every week, which are super helpful, too.

Did terribly in Gen Chem. Getting 95s in orgo. You LITERALLY need to read the whole book and do all the problems but that's not as bad as it sounds. Take orgo with him!!! The averages are always B+. You will not regret it!! Lots of work but it definitely pays off and there are 2 review sessions/week for extra help. TAKE THIS CLASS. Baileys the best

The class required a significant amount of work, but if you do all the textbook problems, you will do really well in the class because Bailey takes problems directly from the book and puts them on the tests. He explains everything really clearly and the textbook is also very useful if you don't understand something from the lectures.

It was his enthusiasm and constant touchup encouraging statements to the class that really motivated me to try harder. It wasn't an easy course and really requires everyone to do every problem in the book to do well. And he really appreciates his students' efforts in doing those problems and going to review sessions.

As a non-chem major, I was only required to take 1 semester of ochem; however, Dr. Bailey's teaching induced me to stay for the full year. He's really enthusiastic about chem and shares historical anecdotes which keep the class interesting. When he says to do ALL the problems in the book, you really should. Semester 2 is easier than Semester 1.

Bailey is a great lecturer who really knows the material well. Every section is presented in a clear manner and the exams are tough but very straight forward. He tells a lot of great stories to keep the lectures interesting. My only complaint is that he tends to put down the non-honors sections quite a lot which I find quite annoying.

He really knows his organic chemistry. Bailey is very, very smart and will often bring up a lot of applications to his lectures. Overall, his class was pretty difficult being honors. I suggest doing EVERY problem in the book. Also, he seems to really look down on kids who did not take the honors section the full year. Class may take over your life.

Dr. Bailey is easily the best professor ive had at UCONN. he makes Organic Chemistry possible to comprehend, and realizes that all students will not be capable of seeing everything in 3D as orgo requires. if you can get past his somewhat gruff demeanor you realize he really cares about his subject, and he wants to see students do well
