Comment:

Outstanding professor if you are on your game. Took him for 12 hours with no problems. In fact, I missed alot of class in one semester and he treated it as a departmental challenge. I took final and turned in paper for an agreed C because he knew I knew my stuff. I would not change a thing. I learned so much about historiography by just listening.

I had this professor long ago and of all my professors, he is one of VERY best. His classes were fabulous, I would forget to take notes, I got so caught up in his lectures. He demanded my very best, and I worked hard to give it to him. HE'S A FIRST RATE TEACHER.

I would not recomend this class. The test are so hard and even if you know the material and what you are talking about the highest you will make is a B. He always talks about the subjects that were n the test after you have the test. Very Difficult and he is rude. Did I mention that he was RUDE!!!

Dr. Greenwald is misunderstood. He actually cares about his students, and he knows his stuff but he just expects you to be a grown up and act like it. I liked his class and got an A in it. He really helps you with your book reviews, and even meets with you in his office about before you write it most of the time. He's unorganized- only complaint.

Greenwald is...well, he is Greenwald. Students would have a much more efficent study of the subject if he was more organized. He rarely covers all of the material and you must be percise in your statements. Essays are tough, but if you work hard youll get a B. He forgot 2 students make up final (do to snow) and counted it against them. not fair

Ok if you are in class to goof off stay away, but if you want to learn something important about history he is the one. In all my classes he was the first to give me my money worth. So if you want to learn take him, if you are looking for a easy grade beware!

The MOST HORRIBLE teacher I have had since I have attended ASU. No, he's just flat out the worst teacher I have EVER had. We will just put it this way, he would be an awesome teacher if he was only as smart as he thinks he is.Unfair grading, bad attitude, unwilling to help, RUDE.

At First I thought he was the hardest teacher I've ever had but with time you learn his style and begin to catch on to what he wants on his quizzes (short answer w/ dates & importance) He doesn't lecture specifically for each Quiz, rather, from the 2 exams at MidTerms and Finals. Write Notes, Memorize, Pre-prepare essays, and you will be fine!

I agree that he is tough. But I also believe that if you are willing to put forth an effort, you will receive a fair grade. I worked my tail off and I made an A in this class (after being told by other students that A's were impossible). I had no interest in this subject when I started, but my interest has risen considerably as well my confidence!

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Take quizzes, 3 out of 5 you write on and u must know dates and all the facts. Basically U must be in his brain or udk it. Doesn't matter how close you are u must be right on. He's very intergetic i'll give him that. But he doesn't help you at all. He doesn't care 2 help.

Dr. Greenwald is the hardest teacher I have ever had. You have a quiz normally every week, in essay form, and if you don't get what HE thinks on the essays then they are wrong! He is very hard, he can be a smart a ss. DON'T take him if you don't have to. I am an A student and I made a C!!

My biggest complaint is that he doesn't let you know what he wants on the quizzes. You write a paragraph on a word that you've had since the first day of class and he doesn't tell you what he wants in the paragraph but he's looking for 5 specific things and if you don't have them, too bad.

The absolute most horrible teacher I have ever had. Get this... he lectures about the quiz material after you've taken the quiz. So you learn what's on the quiz after the quiz. You also have 2 finals over quizes and lectures... there's one problem.. he doesn't lecture. Don't get this teacher!

What you do: buy the book, read the chapters, define the terms he gives you in your notebook and study them for the quizzes...you'll get an A and only have to take 6 out of 8. Then study the terms for the tests and use the sparse notes from class (don't worry about going too often) for essays. Easy!
