Great if you know how to use him. Stay on top of the class, ask questions, and talk to him after class and you will learn a ton. He is very knowledgeable and really helpful out of class. Beware the projects they are way harder than you think. Takes a day to get used to his accent but its completely fine after that. I would take him again.

Comment:

Dr. Lu's class is hard but fair. He curves more than he used to, and his accent does take a day or two to get used to (its fine after that). Go to class, do the readings, understand the homework, pay attention, and you will learn a ton. Be prepared for very conceptual exams. His lectures were pretty helpful (if you were prepared). I learned a lot.

Incredibly harsh grader, and impossible to understand. He has unrealistic expectations for what students can accomplish. Refuses to curve, and when forced due to majority being below the 50%, considers a 60% to be an "acceptable" average.

Cannot comprehend how this dude got hired. You cannot understand what he is saying, nor can you read what he is writing. His slides do not match the information in the book and I wish I had not taken the class. Please do yourself a favor and avoid Wu Lu at all costs. Even if it means graduating late.

Worst professor I've had at Ohio State. You can't understand him during lecture; his material doesn't match up with the book (which is the only means of gaining knowledge of the material). Homework was long and redundant and didn't at all correspond to the exams (which were very hard and poorly written). Save yourself some trouble. Don't take it.

Meh. Not easy to follow. Takes scattered notes on the PowerPoint slides, but he uploads them and videos of the lectures to Carmen. Tests weren't overly difficult, except the final was tricky. Open book.

Prof. Lu wasn't as bad as some of the people said he was. Can be difficult to understand at times, but tries hard to make sure that people learn. Tests were waaaay more difficult than the homeworks, but gave advanced hints on what could be on them. 331 is a tough subject to begin with. Don't really understand why so many dropped the class.

The final had nothing to do with the 2 midterms we had and we ever had homework over the topics on the final, which was 40% of our total grade. He never answered a question. He just made random noises and pretended it was the answer. If you liked material sciences, you won't any more once you have him.

I'll be honest, this guy tried. With that said, this was the absolute worst joke of a class I've ever taken in college. Let's just say I've never had a C before until this class. The test averages were near F/D level. You don't learn, and your grade gets destroyed. The worst part is, you know it's coming.

Dude...Dude...you have to take this guy!! Sure you can't understand a word he says, but thats not the point-your grade is the point and it will be high for little effort!!We were all laughing at the people that took Aderson becuase we would watch them cry in the lounge while they were trying to do there HW assighnments. He is one of the worst teachers ever. you won't understand a thing in during his call plus the book the text book is so boring that you will dye before reading it. I kept avoiding this class because Berger was taking it for many quarters. took it in my last quarter and almost failed.

Really nice guy. You won't learn a thing in his class unless you teach it to yourself. I guess it doesn't really matter though, since this class doesn't seem relevant to most career paths. It is just the second in a series of weed-out classes in the ECE curriculum

Worst teacher in the world. Would not help. Cuts his office hours short because he'd rather be somewhere else. Ask a question personaly and he will watch his watch the whole time. Apparently there have been many complaints but he makes too much money for the university so he's here to stay.
