Ms. Matas is an absolutely exceptional professor. If you do the homework attend class and pay attention to her lectures youll pass this class with an A. She cares for students equally & ensures all understand the material before moving on. She makes the class fun and gives plenty of examples that are tied up to everyday life situations. Good luck!

Unless you are good at math and like to just do your own thing without needing help, then do NOT take this class! You won't learn and you will HATE the atmosphere!!

I would highly advise anyone considering taking this professor to look elsewhere. She is extremely rude and condescending towards students, especially to those who ask questions. Furthermore, she is extremely hard to follow seeing that she rushes through course material and she is always late for class. Finally, she sets far too much homework.

Comment:

For me she is the best, she knows her craft and helps you understand what she puts on the board. The only thing I can say that some people might not like, is that she is late to her class, sometimes on time. She is retiring so that might be the case. Over all I think she is a great math professor.

She is very demanding even though she is 10-20 minutes late every single class. Not extra credits. The reviews before the exam are very helpful. Wouldn't take her again for any math class, it's just an unpleasant experience.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!!! I am a much older student and my very first class I was told to learn to salutate correctly. Exact words was you are in college now you need to put your big girl pants on and learn the correct way to send an email. I was so sidetracked trying to get the math lab to work I forgot to start her email with professor!

The class is pretty straight forward. You use an online website to do your weekly HW assignments, quizzes can be taken a couple of times, she keeps your highest grade. The only way you can fail this class is if you are lazy. HW can be done over until you get a 100 on it (within the deadline). She gives midterm and final reviews.

Excellent professor. I still do not get why she has the worst rates ever. She is so nice and so helpful. Her classes are excellent and she always give practice exams and reviews for every test. LOVE HER :)

Avoid this professor. I took this class hoping for it to be similar to Mac1105, which was simple, but this professor makes it impossible. She only wants the answers step by step in the way she wants it and marks it wrong even if you have the right answer but did it another way. She is always 10-15 minutes late to class in an hour class.

This professor at first looks very nice and gives you extra credits, but after 2 tests forget about the extra credit and the nice professor. She gets angry easily and if she sees a phone she gets more angry. Also she wants you to do the exercises the way she wants. You cannot miss one step because she will mark it wrong

I am very good at math and I have been passing all my exams. But it is all due to MY OWN effort. Her english is also very broken and I don't speak spanish!!! Also, she usually gives her students an attitude and she is ALWAYS late.

this class was suppose to be easy but she makes it very hard. she is very good explaining the material u will derstand everything but her tests are horrible!!!!! I have no words to explain what I have gone trough with her tests.
