He is terrible. Rude and disrespectful to students. Not engaging at all, and is not relatable. He makes you feel like he is above you, and is overall just a horrible professor. Never take him!!

Great teacher, has the student's best interest. 10 reflection papers and 3 exams which are multiple choice. Study his notes and do the work.

I love philosophy but this professor kinda ruined it for me just a little. He is super boring which is surprising since many of the topics covered in this ethics course are quite controversial and should lead to heated debates... it just never happened. He tends to lecture and go off on his own little personal anecdotes quite often but is ultimatel

Comment:
The the caliber of the students who have given this professor a low rating is apparent from their comments. To clarify, it is not high-- some seemed to have graduated HS prematurely. His vocabulary outside philosophy terminology was not challenging. If you take good notes, which he writes out for you, then you should have no problem on the exams.

Easy going and more or less easy grader. 10 reflection papers, only 1 page each, plus 3 exams. The exams are based on his lecture SO READ YOUR NOTES and pay attention! If you study you shouldn't have any problem. I got an A-.

Easy going teacher. Reflection papers were easy and short, he doesn't read them but he does grade their length (3/4 page minimum). Exams could be a little tricky, but they are entirely lecture based, so listen up and take notes. Overall nice guy, but uses too many big and unnecessary words just to feel good about himself.

Your an idiot if you find this man "HILARIOUS" His class was sooooo boring! Uses a top of words you've never heard of, his lectures are like watch paint dry, and his exams are EXTREMLY difficult. I took this class as an elective, worst mistake of my life!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!

I thought Prof. Grose was HILARIOUS! He's got some great sarcasm up his sleeve. Okay, whoever said he uses "big words" has got to be kidding me. It's a philosophy class, so you are going to learn philosophical terminology. He's actually a really nice guy and very knowledgeable on his field. You're the best, Prof. Grose!

pretty easy class, easy professor. Didn't have to do that much work. Handed in short papers once a week on ethical stuff. I usually did them 10 minutes before class. Study a little for the tests and you'll be fine. I ended up with an A- and i slacked off majorly

Class is a complete waste of time. Talks too much. Have like 5 cups of coffee before class or you wont survive. Don't make the same mistake as I did and take something else as an elective for graduation.

Wow - where to begin. How about VERY DIFFICULT!!! If you come to class everday; do all the extra credits and try not to fail you might have a chance. The text books are a waste of money. You'll either like him or hate him but you won't love him.

Professor Grose is extremely knowledgeable in his field. I actually thought he was pretty amusing because his humor is really sarcastic yet pretty funny. The class is very interesting and I had a thoroughly good experience. He seems like a fair grader and the tests were also fair as well.

Well knowledgeable in his field. But style of teaching can be clumsy. Begins lessons with series of questions and bad analogies that drag on. Rushes through the main point when class is almost over. By then he hardly accepts questions. Best thing is to Google topics up & you?ll find excellent explanation/analyses.

I'm really neutral on him. It might just be me, but I retained NOTHING from this class. I memorized the facts, took the tests, got an A and then forgot all of it. I'm not usually like that. Gives the paper portfolio assignment which is a guaranteed A plus some extra credit chances. As long as you memorize what he says, you're fine.
