Best Chem Professor at UWM hands down, brilliant, funny and really has a passion for chemistry. This class will destroy you if you try and memorize your way through it. Put in work, know electronegativity, acid-base chemistry, and understand your mechanisms. Do that and you'll end up acing the class and developing an appreciation for ochem as well.

Cannot read his lecture notes. He put notes online for final, but they were unreadable and scanned poorly. Did really well in 343 with Chen, but 345 was less organized. He does not care about averages as more than 50% of the class ended up with lower than a C. Would not recommend. Also do not ask him to regrade if the TAs have messed up.

Disorganized lecture notes, can barely read his writing. Attended every lecture, did homework, worked practice exams, went to CSI and still found his tests/quizzes difficult. Quizzes are said to cover specific material, but he adds on material that has not even been covered. I went from getting a 98% in Ochem 1 to getting 60-70% on exams in Ochem2.

He is not very clear in lectures and the tests from previous years do not correlate to the tests that I received. Overall one of the worst classes I've ever had do not take this class with him.

Favorite professor at UWM! Makes it very clear what you need to know for exams by posting old exams and having weekly quizzes. Make flashcards of all the reactions and the tests will be easy. He gives students a in depth understanding of material, I didn't even have to study ochem for my MCAT.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! Tough professor, but worth your money. You truly learn the material. As long as you attend class, work problems, etc. You will pass his class no problem. All the people that say he's HARD are students that don't know how to study, don't attend lecture and shouldn't be Pre-Med. You can't take the easy way out in Medical School.

Was by far the BEST professor I have ever had. They say he's the "HARDEST" chem professor at UWM. While this may be true for most, you definitely have to work for an "A" like I did. I would take any of his classes again in a heartbeat. I really learned the material so well, which helped so much on the PCAT. He's super funny & extremely intelligent!

Swabby was the best chemistry professor I have ever had. Swabby goes way above and beyond the call of duty. His exams are very tough but he prepares you for them. If you did not like general chemistry you are good to go with Dr. Schwabacher he does not like Gen Chem either If you want to learn o-chem for real take Swabby He is AWESOME

Talks very fast and does not give much partial credit. These Ochem classes take a lot of time, but Schwabacher is very passionate and you will learn a lot. There are easier teachers, but few that will help you to learn as much material so quickly. Study for the weekly quizzes, also he lets you replace your grade with the Final

This class is impossible. His lectures consist of him scribbling on the board which is impossible to follow. His grading standards are RIDICULOUS. Averages mean nothing to him and he refuses to curve exams even when the average is less than 50%. You need to be a genius to get an A in the class. As a paying student, I feel ripped off by uwm.

Very smart professor, but way to fast. Examples in class are unimportant to exam material, requires no homework but should utilize your resources. Attended SI sessions every week and still failed almost every Exam. He seemed very bi-polar with how he graded his exams.

He does teach at a very fast pace and if you do not read beforehand it will be very difficult to keep up. He will address questions at the beginning of class. He is very passionate about the topic but seems to forget that students are new to it, i.e., will sometimes move in a very disorganized manner. I completely agree with 10/29/13's review.

He's incredibly difficult to keep up with. He's definitely passionate about the topics, but does like to go off on tangents that are completely unrelated to the material. I would definitely recommend another professor if you need more in depth instruction.

He is a great teacher! He does not have office hours, but he is always in his office and willing to answer questions. His practice exams are very helpful. His finals are always a challenge, but if you do well on the other exams, you will probably get a grade you expect.

Hard to keep up with. Knows too much about the course and scribbles everywhere on the board that has nothing to do with the course related topics. Very passionate about teaching but doesn't understand how students approach the problems and goes too fast. Notes don't flow in correct manner and makes no sense.

Schwabacher is hard to follow. His tests are challenging but if you study like crazy you will do good. He goes off on random tangents all of the time and it takes you forever to realize that what he just showed you has nothing to do with what you are learning. He is a wiz with the material so it's hard to keep up sometimes.
