Comment:
Her lectures were sometimes boring but the material was really interesting. She did 6 exams (one dropped) for 80% of grade and participation 20% which it HELPS to get that participation grade high because the exams were kind of hard. The book is super helpful and so are the videos she assigns to watch. Do the work and you will do fine!

Comment:
Amy screwed up this class by assigning the wrong text book. Test information comes from the end of the chapters, study that information and you will make 85s on exams. Exams make up 80% of your grade and participation makes up 20%. Participation grades (small in class assignments) are given at random. Bring your textbook to class to be successful!

She talks to the class like we are children. Tests are 80% of your grade and she does not prepare you well. Quizzes randomly all the time and they will drop your grade by a few points if you don't do well. Takes FOREVER to respond to your emails. I would NOT take her again!!

Dr. Galloway is seriously the nicest woman I have ever met. She genuinely cares about her students and wants you to pass. The material can be difficult at times, but she gives little tips and tricks to help you understand/remember. Her tests can be kind of hard cause she'll ask you left-field questions that you didn't expect so study everything!

There were not many tests. I took the service learning section so there were papers instead. It seemed very very difficult to get an A, nothing was good enough. Attendance was not mandatory but lots of participation grades were taken instead. She's a good teacher and cared about the subject but overall, average.

I took her service-learning course which from what I have heard is much easier than her normal course. Their aren't any tests, just quizzes that can be confusing an have nothing to do with the textbook. She lectures on the textbook and assigns readings, but focuses more on the service-learning part which is a great experience.

HORRIBLE! Regret taking this class! She's so scattered and her test NEVER followed the lectures. She provided a study guide but failed to tell us that the study guide was only to help you when you're reading the text, not a study guide for the tests. Thinks low C's are good and fair grades. Oh, and tests are 90% of your grade and they're hard af.

Very Difficult class. Her tests don't match up exactly with anything. She strives to ask questions on her test with connecting concepts to material. A deep understanding of each concept is necessary.

Be aware before you sign up for this class that there are two different sections. I signed up for Dr. Galloway's first service learning class and it's really unorganized. The only good thing is that you don't have huge tests. But that means you learn less material and spend more time worrying about your write-up assignments. Not sure it's worth it.

She is honestly the worst professor I have ever had. Her lectures are not relevant to material on the exam and reading the textbook thoroughly is mandatory, that is where all the test material comes from. There are participation and research grades that can help boost your grade slightly. Overall, I would never recommend her, find someone else.

Talks to the class like you're in kindergarten. Lectures aren't really relevant to the exams. Tests are SUPER HARD she says her averages are C's and D's and shes okay with that. Choose an easier professor for sure.

Dr. Galloway is an amazing woman and clearly very passionate about her work and wants to see her students do well. She will take the time to explain, but you have to ask! If you are willing to put in your time to get your questions answered you will do well. She uses great examples in class and makes exams fair.

Very very nice woman. Obviously passionate about her job and very willing to help. Tests are hard. Most material comes from the book. She is softspoken which makes it really hard to pay attention in class. Expects a little too much from you.

Was really dreading this class, but it actually wasn't bad at all! The tests can be a little bit challenging, but if you go to class and take notes then they aren't too bad. Go to class b/c a good participation grade will help you out. Ask questions b/c she can be a little confusing, but very willing to help. Overall not bad - came out with an A+

Prof Galloway is one of the most helpful professors at app state. She offers extra credit, up to three points on your final grade! She answers any questions you have and her study guides are very specific. Shes interested in what shes teaching and is more than willing to work with students that need help. Her tests come from the book and lecture.
