My wife, my brother, and I all had classes with Professor Damgaard and to this day a lot of her lessons still stick with us. She taught me one of the most important lessons in studying sociology: "Who benefits?" She was so great for SOC101 that we all took multiple classes with her.

Anni is my favorite professor of all time! She is clear and friendly. Her class is insightful and intriguing. She is the reason I took on Sociology as a second major. We've stayed good friends following her class. A class which, btw, teaches you more about yourself then you might expect. Take a class with this professor.

She is a great teacher and tells you on the first day that this class can either be easy or hard depending on if you want to learn. She doesn’t believe in having every student spend the money on the book she instead posts everything you’ll need online. Very easy class if you’re willing to show up. I recommend taking her class.

Extremely subjective questions favoring the professors view on politics. Easy class her opinions are printed out and questions on the on line quizzes follow word for word. Its not hard to get an A+ just remember its not what you think its what she tells you.

Don't ever take this class. This class is just stupid. This professor doesn't even cover the stuffs that are on the weekly online quizzes. In class she doesn't even teach and she is just saying random stuff that she wants to say. The worst class and the worst professor.

Literally the worst soc class I've ever taken. She focuses on theories that are not clear and overall content is extremely dull. She also comes off a bit Judgement. Maybe it's bc she's a foreigner talking about Americans? Avoid this class altogether. Statements made about quizzes being unclear are true and the required text is awful.

Such a sweet lady! Very interesting class. Fun videos watched in class. Gives you basically the answers to the quiz, just go to class and do your discussion boards and quizzes and you'll get an A.

Comment:
Basically carries an anti-capitalist bias and seems to go on and on about the evils of white males. It really wears thin after the fifth week of the same drivel. The fact that I skipped nearly 15 lectures and still received an A basically means that this class is only worth the letter grade, and all else is just so much shrill hand-wringing.

Class is based on 15 (10 question) quizzes and 2 discussion boards (& 1 extra credit opportunity the semester I took it). The discussion boards are fairly simple and lecture notes are provided for each quiz. Sometimes the lecture notes help, sometimes they dont. Quiz questions in relation to info from textbook can sometime be confusing also.

I took this class and it was definitely easy. The grade is composed of discussion boards and quizzes. If you read the book, you will do well! Just be careful because the quizzes are 15 questions with only 30 minutes to complete. However, the professor is rude and very unhelpful. Be prepared for unanswered questions.

DO NOT TAKE. I emailed her and received no replies. I emailed the TA over an unclear assignment due date and he brought more confusion. Missed the assignment, nothing I could do to make up for it. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL.

Easy B, difficult A. As a straight-A student, this class is extremely frustrating. Guidelines are unclear, quiz questions are poorly written, grades extremely hard on discussion board posts, not opened to critical thinking/criticism from students. She has a rather simplistic view on a subject matter that is extremely complex... Overall, DO NOT TAKE

This teacher is so unclear all her quizzes are online you'll put in an answer from the lecture overhead and it will be wrong on the discussion boards you HAVE to do two responses or you get 0 credit yeah she says groovy and doobies a lot but it gets old and she rambles on about stuff I just don't understand

Comment:
The instructor is clear about expectations for class. Book is extremely boring; chapters are approx. 30pgs per chapter. Content in chapters covers topics from multiple angles resulting in many contradictions against purported evidence. Tests are near impossible to get 100% on. Take this class only if absolutely needed.

Very poor guidance given for assignments, and don't expect a clear rubric or feedback. Will give poor grades for well written assignments if they rely on any subtext or critical thinking on the reader's part. You must write very simplistically for her.

Poorly structured class. Lecture notes consisted of one-page word documents she wrote. Errors in her quizzes will hurt your grade if you do not dispute it with her during office hours. Not helpful or accommodating to "online-only" needs in any way. Still an easy A/B.
