Comment:

Honestly a super great teacher. He's so passionate about biology I actually learned a lot and remember much of it. Super helpful, and gives a great study guide which is EXTREMELY similar to the tests. If you don't skip class he gives extra points and tended to round test grades. Overall super great and I'd totally take his class again.

Comment:

Professor Mamo gives you every opportunity to succeed in his class and earn an A. I took him for lab and lecture and both were pretty easy as science courses go. For all lecture exams you are given a study guide which is more or less the exam. If you are one of the top students in the course he also lets you skip the final!

He is a very good teacher but Biology is tuff no matter how you look at it. You either know it or you don't. I was somewhere in the middle but I studied and was able to get a "B" out the class. He's a good man that cares. I would take him again but.... I HATE BIOLOGY!!!!!!

Mamo is the worst prof i have ever taken.Arrogant, self centered. Tries to push religious views on students on a regular basis, had to report to provost, belittles students who ask questions and does not give direct answers.Does not encourage interaction at all. Tests difficult and based on lectures,even though told to read book. Dont take at all

Mr. Mamo can be hard to understand at times b/c of his accent. He expects you to read & know the lab prior to class. Grades easy, but strict about attendance & tardiness. I wish I had him for my BIO lecture as well. Good teacher to select for those new to BIO.

Dr. Mamo, It a very good Biology teacher, he is fair and as long as you do your homework and study your notes you will do well in his class. I had him for evening classes for BIo 101 and 102 and he made the class interesting.

I just finished his BIO Lab class. At the end of class there is always a quick quiz. I can't really understand his accent most of the time, but in general his class is easy. All you have to do to pass is show up on time and do some work. I hate BIO, but was shock I passed the class.

Great Teacher. He genuinely wants everybody to do well. There is a ton of information but he provides you notes and gives you focus areas for each class. Despite a tough subject which I have almost no interest, I enjoyed going to his lectures and labs. Great person and highly recommend his class!

I like Prof Mamo. You definitely have to put in the work, but if you do you'll do fine in his class. I used the book alot to study. And he gave really good exam reviews before each test...pay attention to them...he tells you whats on the test. He genuinely wants his students to do well. Good teacher.

He gave the entire class the wrong notes and definitions. So when the whole class confronted him and showed him the same notes they had and the reason why they did horrible in class. Yet it made no difference to him! He's very arrogant doesn't want to hear any concerns that you might have! DO NO TAKE HIM!

OMG!!! he is horrible!!! I have always gotten A's and in his class i got a B!! He simply never uses the book in his lecture but u better make sure that you read it on ur own. He has a habit of including things from the book on the test which he never covered. Also HE sometimes gives u the wrong answers to terms and holds u for it!

cont.from last post:You must still go to class and take notes though cuz he'll throw in a few things not in the book.LAB was very easy!don't even have to do them,show up, pretend then take the quiz.I recommend him for an A only if you take the time to read the book and go to class. If bio=your major,you might consider someone else for better info.

He must have changed the policy cuz this fall no curves. He once gave bonus due to him placing uncovered material on the test by accident. Tests are MC and T/F which can be a little tricky so you must read the book if you want an A. If he gets behind, he quickly passes material leaving out details for the test (READ THE BOOK!).

Dr.Mamo is on of the best professors I ever seen in life. He makes the class easy by breaking the subject and making clear. In additon to this, he encourage the class to ask a question and works hard to make the subject clear and understandable. So, he is a great professor.

Dr. Mamo is a highly enthusiastic professor that grades on a curve. Those are the only positive attributes I can think of regarding his class. He lost exams, asks trivial and insignificant factoids on tests versus your knowledge of the subject and sometimes the lecture gave incorrect information.

He's the best biology professor that you will ever meet. Because of him, I decided to major in biology. He writes sincere recommendation letters when you transfer and he takes cares of you. He's the best of the best.
