Professor Freiwald is really amazing. Yes, you have to come prepared: don't participate and these lectures might feel longboring. But: she's knowledgable, thoughtful and respectful. And she challenges you to do better by making clear that she's there to help and that the A+ exists for a reason. She'll use it if you put in the work and creativity.

Bina is a fabulous prof. She is incredibly intelligent and always knows where to direct you to push your research further. Lectures are more organic than structured sometimes so those with more logic-driven brains might lose track.

SWEET WOMAN BUT AWFUL TEACHER/LECTURER. She's clearly passionate, but boring, unclear + rambling; classes are like dragging your brain across nails. Assignments either vague or unreasonably specific. Marks given back a month late. Interesting material but horrible time management; always behind schedule. Ended up teaching myself everything.

I wish I needed the credits to take another class with her, because I would! She is a great prof, caring, approachable, she always has time even though she is so involved in the dept. Lectures were sometimes boring, but she knows her stuff and I learned a great deal. Very demanding, fair marker, take her if you're not afraid of working hard.

She is definitely sweet, but her teaching methods are... ineffective. She seems to look down on student answers in class, they are never good enough. Also, she tends to ramble, lose her train of thought, and ends her sentences uncomfortably. The material she chooses is very interesting, but I don't feel she taught me anything I hadn't read myself.

Overwhelming, boring, incomprehsible UNLESS you've done readings and are well prepared. She's always available outside class time and takes a genuine interest in her students. She marks fairly and takes into account our limited understanding. I learned a lot, but feel like I only grasped at the surface of the amount of knowledge this woman has.

I found Bina to be demanding and narrow of vision. She seems open to opposing ideas, but in fact tends to be patronizing and condescending. Dissent provokes an "I know better than you" attitude.

The course was very... very... hard work, but I learned so much from Bina! She did more than lecture, she makes you engage with the texts. If your looking for a challenge academically take one of her courses, you'll run out of gas toward the end but overall you'll benefit from what she has to teach you. And, she's so sweet!

I get at least 5 e-mails a day from this professor, it is annoying and unnecessary, my e-mail is flooded daily. She is unclear, very hard to understand and all over the place. I do not recommend taking this course if she is the assigned professor. She is Horrible.
