Great professor who teaches interesting topics but if you are looking to just take a blow-off REL class, this is not it. Readings required for every class (3 times a week) followed either by a quiz or short response. Requires a lot of work and participation.

The topic of the day was the various scientific advancements the Nazis attempted to obtain by experimenting on the captive Jews in concentration camps. He called the lecture for that day "The Easy Bake Oven." I cannot make this up. For an ethics professor, this certainly seemed inappropriate. That's all I'll say, I'll let you decide from there.

I took Kallenburg's religion ethics course and it was not fun. I thought it was interesting at first, then it got very hard. He's a tough grader. There's classwork due each class. You have actually read the readings. He assigns unreasonable group projects. Lots of papers. He's a nice guy. Just not the greatest professor.

This class was entirely too much work for what it was. Expect 20+ page readings and 1 page responses every class period with forum posts once or twice a week. There are also about 3 big end of class projects. This class is not difficult but it will consume quite a chunk of your time.

This class was easily one of the most interesting I have ever taken. As a prof, Dr. Kallenberg is SO enthusiastic. I never got bored in his classroom, and he is a pretty sympathetic guy who was never condescending. GREAT class if you don't mind a heavier workload to fulfill a cluster. Cool guy, really know his stuff, but WARNING SO MANY PAPERS.

Dr. K is a nice guy who really knows his stuff. But as a non-major class he makes you put way too much time into the assignments. Assignments due each class, weekly assignments, and large papers. Interesting topic, just way too much work. Put the work in and you'll do fine. Go to his office hours before writing a paper and he'll help you out.

He is clear and interesting to listen to. You end up learning a thing or two about ethics, but you WILL do a lot of writing. Expect to write a lot.

Amongst the worst professors at UD. He makes you buy the book he wrote just so you can put his name in every assignment you do, which for a 3credit gen ed class that absolutely nobody cares about, he assigns far too many. Ethics is a topic that is important, but thanks to this total loser, it is something I completely hate. DO NOT TAKE

Be prepared for an insane amount of work due each class. 2 half-page papers for each class, add a forum post each Thursday. When additional assignments come up he just adds them onto everything else. Lecture is pointless and boring, he expects participation from everyone

Lots of reading, but nothing too hard. I wasn't interested in the class because of the religious aspect, but more of a focus on right and wrong engineering practices than religion. Very fair grading. Would definitely recommend to others.

A good teacher, a little dry and lots of reading but most of the reading doesn't require more than skimming to answer the required questions.

Pretty nice guy and better than average teacher, but the workload and time commitment for this class is ridiculous for an intro to religion.I had to give up 3 of my saturdays in one semester to do all day service projects or pointless field trips that are mandatory. Also, expect to write lots of reflections and be subjected to tough grading.

This guy is boring in lecture. the material is boring to begin with but he butchers it. it doesn't help that he uses his own book for the class. The workload for this class is ridiculously high for such a meaningless class. he doesn't seem to realize people are taking this class just to fulfill a required course. DO NOT TAKE!!!

Good guy and decent teacher, but the amount of work he assigns is insane. You will be doing hours of reading before each class, along with a 1 page paper; not to mention all the out of class work he requires. For a class such as this, it was crazy. Don't take it with Dr. Kallenberg

Dr. Kallenberg is a very helpful professor. Nothing is graded extremely hard. On the first day he will act extremely strict in order to scare off first-years. If you make it past the first day you will do fine. Both Kallenberg and his graduate assistant presented the material in a clear, easy to understand manner.

Great professor! Took him for capstone. I didn't really know about the subject (Religion and Technolatry) at first, but he made it interest. He is very helpful and tries to make his classes as practical as possible. My only regret is that I wasn't able to take more classes with him.

There was a reading/writing assignment due every lecture period that were graded pretty tough. No tests...just take home midterms. Optional final. Ethics project at the end which is graded very harshly. I got an A, but not this is not a blow off class. Other engineering ethics teachers seem to be easier.
