Brad is AMAZING! One of the best professors at UW. His research is in the area, so he has a lot of knowledge on the global environment. The course covers a lot abt the environment which is SUPER INTERESTING. Lectures are good, with Brad cracking the occasional joke! Simple econ background necessary, graded fairly, lowest quizzes dropped, weekly HWs

Professor Barham is a really solid teacher. You can tell he really cares about what he teaches and wants you to do well. Although the lectures can be a little long he really tries to make them bearable. The readings can be very daunting but the majority of them aren't necessary anything important will be covered in class.

Brad rocks! His lectures are pretty long, but very interesting if you are excited about the environment. He is easily accessible outside of class, and really knows his stuff. You can tell he genuinely wants kids to learn the material, and his weekly problem sets and quizzes aren't bad at all. Only exam is the final. Highly recommend.

Overall, Brad's awesome. The readings may seem daunting but they are not all necessary and he always ended up covering what was important for the exams (Only 2 midterms). Lecture slides put online so attendance isn't mandatory, but he gives extra credit for participation. He's super willing to help and very passionate. 10/10 recommend

Be prepared to do readings and research outside of the classroom. Simply attending lectures will not help your learning. Prof Barham is truly passionate about his studies and is an easy-going guy. Most course content is interesting in AAE 373

Most of the learning comes outside of class and through the research that you put in outside of class. The group projects seem a bit unorganized, but he is helpful through email and in person. Good experience.

Brad is a great professor. Truly one of the only Professors here that I felt like actually cared about my understanding of the topic. All he wants is for his students to understand economics, and hes fascinating. Take this class if you have an interest in global economics and are willing to do the work.

LOVE THIS GUY!! He's pretty much who I want to be in 20 years. He's very helpful outside of class and has a great sense of humor. He uses constructive criticism on papers and tries to push us to achieve our full potential. He's even helpful on career advice. I'd highly recommend him!

Take his classes if you want to think critically about the issues! Nice, very helpful outside of his class, and knows his stuff. Most readings get re-covered in class, so just show up, do the homework, and put some thought into your essays. I took 373 and 374 and they both rocked. Highly recommended for people who aren't afraid to do some work.

If you are going to take a Barham course you got to have your life together! The smallest thing can diminish your grade a lot. He is a great lecturer, but it was extremely difficult to pick out the most important messages in both lectures and grading. I left this class more confused and lost than when I entered because I didn't give him 110%.

This is one of the best Prof. I ever had. The first 2 papers I had I did terribly. He grades on everything from grammer and comprehension of the subject to how well you can apply the subject to develop your own ideas. You come out of the cl**** feeling like a true economist.

Braham is AWESOME!!! Repeating verbatum what he says won't get you anywhere - you have to think about Latin American problems and put your own two cents into the mess. He makes himself very available to students and he's an awseome network connection to have.

(Crosslisted with AAE/Intl Bus) Latin America-historico-institutional analysis of development problems within the region...my ass. Dictate verbatim what he covers in class and you still do poorly on the exams. Course book not available until week 12
