The class had a lot of great reading. If you read the assigned readings and do the papers you will get a good grade. He grades quickly and gives good feedback and chances to make corrections to increase your grade if you need to.

Took Prof Steel's Pol Sci 204-400 (Intro to International Relations) course via e-Campus. Ten weeks in the course and the only assignments aside from a weekly quiz was to write 4 essays over the course of ten weeks. There was a topic for each week so you got to pick the four essays you liked the most. He also let you turn in the paper twice.

can't remember course # because I've taken several from him. His online courses all follow the same format. Lots of reading, lots of writing. But all you have to do is write papers every few weeks and post your opinion on something. He feels unavailable often, but he's also really understanding and kind. Quick to respond to emails. Give him a chanc

Awesome guy. He somehow makes a political statistics class very interesting and exciting. He is concerned with the information absorbed by his students rather than their scores on a quiz or test.

Prof Steel is a wonderful instructor...in class. Anytime you get him out of class or in his office it's insta-uncomfortable with the feeling like he doesn't have time for you, which he doesn't. He is super busy and way too intelligent. Great Teacher!!!!

Entire class: Enthusiastic and intelligent professor. FIRST HALF OF QUARTER: Clear expectations and fair grading of both midterms and all assignments. SECOND HALF: Lack of clarity, communication and then unfair grading; unwilling to discuss the hows and whys of grades. Not a recommended professor!

Kick a** teacher, this guy really knows his stuff, and while it may sound like a boring class, he does an awesome job of getting you involved with his enthusiasm. Great guy, great class, 100% to Prof. Steel.

Very quirky but generally a good guy. His stories tend to center around him like he's Superman who can do no wrong. A decent guy though and he gets an "A" for enthusiasm.

Does anyone work harder than Brent Steel? He's committed: teaching, publishing, directing a half a dozen different programs...the hyperactivity can backfire. He tries to hard to make the class "fair", fiddling with his syllabus and stuff...g
