Brian does talk fast but he is extremely knowledgeable and will often go into depth about pathophysiology that you don't necessarily need to know for the exams. Record his lectures, but focus on the notes he gives you on Moodle. He only tests you on what's on his notes. He gives plenty of opportunity for you to earn an A, you just need to study.

One of my worst experiences, he speaks fast, very unclear and just throws info at you with the excuse of trying to prepare you for medical school. A complete farce, now that I am in medical school I can truly say he is not even close. He would be better off teaching to help you understand versus pretending he knows what medical school is like.

I'm thankful to have the opportunity to learn from Brian. He doesn't require the extremely expensive textbook, grades on a modified curve, and makes himself available to students. His A&P classes are very difficult and the amount of studying required exceeds that of a normal 4 credit class. If you're motivated to learn, he's a great choice.

I had Nichols for AP 2 and almost quit his class. I am SO glad I didn't. I am now in the nursing program and just finished my first term with patho. If you're going for nursing STICK WITH BRIAN. Patho was hard, but I was never lost thanks to having Nichols previously. I used his notes and recordings to help me. (highly recommended you record him)

I took Brian for A&P 2 + 3, as well as Micro and his independent study. Started out as a B student and ended up with A+. Tests are tough, but everything is in the notes and powerpoint. Don't be afraid to ask questions, utilize the SRC (it's great!), and his office hours. Brian is brilliant and his humour was always something I looked forward to!

An excellent professor, but you must be willing to work. Treats students fairly and with respect and expects commitment to his class in return. Don't expect to just slack off and skate by. Read the material ahead of class, record lectures and re-play them. Put effort into the poster assignments. Form a study group and take advantage of the SRC.

Brian is the best instructor I have ever taken. I would recommend him to anyone planning to go on to the Nursing program. You will have to work harder for his class than other A&P instructors at Lane but it is worth it. He is very approachable before/after class and during his office hours and Really cares about his students' success. Study, Study!

Showing up and doing the work, asking questions and finding study buddies will ensure you pass the class. Recording lectures and spending time in the SRC are also a large part of success as well. Welcome to college kids, time to do some college work. Nichols is laid back with a witty sense of humor, always willing to find time to answer questions.

If you are on your way to becoming a nurse, take your A & P series with Brian. He is the best teacher I have ever had. He works very hard to ensure that you are truly understanding the criteria. He does not use the book. He teaches from his notes and Power Points. You are provided with all the information need to succeed in his class. STUDY STUDY!!

I took Brian for the entire Anatomy series. Hes the hardest professor Ive had, and I studied almost everyday for his classes. If you want to become a nurse, hes the one to take. Dont be afraid to go see him in his office hours and ask questions. You have to not only memorize the notes, but understand them and be able to apply them clinically.

Professor Nichols is a genius. He is a cardiac nurse and a fountain of knowledge. During lecture he will explain, in great detail, every step of every physiological process that occurs in every condition or drug response that he is addressing. He does this very quickly as well which is tough. But He's super friendly and cares about his students!

This was a tough class, attendance and studying is necessary. Talks fast during lectures so you need to pay attention and be present. Mostly everything on the test is in the notes that he provides which is very helpful. There were multiple occasions where after a lecture he would leave and wasn't present for questions I had which was frustrating.

I took Brian for all three A&P classes and was continuously impressed by his knowledge on the subject (he is an RN) and intelligence overall. He tests straight from his notes/power points and is reasonable and available to answer questions outside of class time. He has high expectations and talks fast keep up, come to class prepared!

He is a tough teacher. You will definitely need to earn your grade and study, but he is very helpful and willing to answer questions. He has long lectures which can be kind of overwhelming, but he gives great examples during the lectures to help you better retain and understand the information.

Brian tests straight from the noted he provides through moodle. He is fair and he is very helpful. He will answer all your questions. The class isn't easy, but no A&P class should be. You have to work to earn your grade. Although he tests from his notes, attending class is still important because of the drawings and aid he gives during class.

Took Clinical Pharmacology with him at the UO! He's a great teacher, and really makes the material clear. If a lot of students don't know or forgot the basics that the class builds upon, he takes the time to go back and review past material from prereq classes. Tests were very fair and he gives sample problems.

My anatomy and physiology professors have been my favorite by far at Lane. Brian is awesome. He is so willing to help. He is one of the smartest people I have met in my life. He is hard, his tests are hard but going into this profession, you want the challenge. Take him if you have the chance and sit back and enjoy!
