Good Prof. Course is dry, but he attempts to make it somewhat interesting. Essay assignments are fairly easy and do not require course material, however they are fairly lengthy. Both the midterm and final are hard to study for mostly because the course is not organized well. They are also long, so be sure to write as fast as possible. Easy 70%+

Well structured, very knowledgable, and passable with a respectable mark if readings are done and essays have solid effort put in.

The tests weren't easy and there was a time constraint. But they were definitely marked leniently. Lectures are good - funny stories, competent lecturing, witty comments, and hes passionate about the material. Going to class helps puts the course ware notes in context. If you don't go to class, you spend 5x the time understanding the notes.

I took Econ 250 with Beach and detested his teaching methods. My opinion of him completely changed when I took a 4th year seminar with him in his area of expertise. Being a little more mature and knowledge, I was better able to appreciate what a superb professor he is. He's also kind-hearted and generous with his time- Queen's is lucky to have h

I took everything he taught. The class notes are impeccable, and he spoon-feeds you all the information. I can understand how some would find him boring, but if you can stay awake, he makes funny comments and has great anecdotes. Class attendance is always low but he will never hang you out to dry on an exam or assignment.

Avoid at all costs. By far the worst prof I have ever had. He may be a smart man, but that does not make him a good prof.

I don't know what all the complaining is about. the lectures will be a good use of your time, the assignments will be a reasonable yet challenging workload, and everything you need to know for the exam will be, as someone already said, spoonfed to you (or poured into a baby bottle for you as i would prefer to word it). Not difficult, but not easy.

Possibly the best Prof I have ever had. Extremely brilliant, and possesses a true sense of the scientific method. If you listen to him enough he will eventually instill in you his own intellectual integrity. 11 years after graduation I have his photo on my PC and sometimes look at it (downloaded from dept website) for moral and intellectual inspira

Had to retake the class. The difference between Beach and Gregory is that Beach actually explains what he's doing. Not the best proff, but considering the material and the competition - he was excellent.

Unfortunately, I had to take this course over again and I can actually compare prof. Beach to Gregory of last year. Both have to try and make stats fascinating enough so that you'll come to class. Look around Beach's class and figure it out- he confuses students in class and then just wait for exams

I think you all should quit whining. He's an interesting guy who pretty much spoon feeds the material to you. If you can't get a good mark in his class then maybe you should look in the mirror instead of blaming the Chuckster. He's an easy grade, isn't that what you people want!!!

Could not write clearly; used unclear and inconsistent techniques; used too many abbreviations before teaching the material and what these abbreviations meant; would give the most roundabout responses to questions, leaving students even more confused; has crappy side-stories; laughed at own jokes...

I believe my brain cells attempted to commit mass suicide during the class. He is possibly one of the worse professors in the University and managed to make me unlearn most of what I already knew about Stats and fill my head with scribbly writting, bad jokes and Hyena-like laughter.

Awful. Unclear scribbles on the board. Tangents that are useless and not funny. Incredibly smart, he just can't teach to others
