Comment:

I would not take this class with her she makes up homework directions and if you dont do it her exact way she takes a lot of points off. She is a very tough grader. The only good thing is that if you get a bad grade on the homework she lets you redo it and you can average the two grades together. I would not take her again not a great professor

Comment:

Shouldn't be teaching an online class. The assignments are difficult to follow and very disorganized. Files needed for assignments are either out of date or incorrect. She allows resubmits for better grades at least, but expect to spend all of your time working on her assignments.

Comment:

A good professor, seems to know what she is talking about. Homework directions are a bit tough to follow at times but overall the class is fine. She can go a little fast in class but if you ask her to slow down she will. She offers good assistance and generally replies to emails quickly. Quizzes range in difficulty. Good class!

Comment:

Easily the worst professor I have ever had. Do not take this class. She is unclear on her directions for homework and her quizzes are ridiculous. Expect convoluted questions about things you have never used or heard mentioned in class once. Tough grader too. In addition she moves very quickly in class. I cannot stress it enough HORRIBLE PROFESSOR!

Does not know the material well. If you ask her anything outside of the worksheet she makes she seems baffled and confused. Each day in class, we do a step by step exercise and are strictly limited to that. All work is assigned outside of class, which is annoying because you can't ask for questions if something is not working. Do not take.

I took this class online for 10 weeks. She is incredibly unhelpful for fixing assignments and the work load is heavy. Expect to spend countless hours working. Her grading is harsh and any attempt to be original with your designs with be punished. The most bothersome part however, was her lack of availability over email. She needs 4 days to respond

she has NO idea what she wants in her assignments. posts direction, then asks you to redo the assignments MULTIPLE times with requirements that are above and beyond. If you do not comply with her obnoxious needs she will turn mean then grade you more harshly bc you didnt bend over backwards for her ten times over. DROP THE CLASS NOW!!!!!!!

Dr. Breuning shows great understanding of the material for this course. Although some of the samples used in class use older web standards that don't work anymore, she provides plenty of examples and supplementary material to help you better understand the concepts discussed.

Takes a while to open up but when she does it's awesome. She really knows her stuff and if you go to her office hours for help she is way more helpful than in class. Her assignments were boring considering the amazing software we were using. If you are in her class stick to it. NO makeups on quizzes, even if absent, but she drops the lowest grade.

I feel like she means well, but I just feel like she needs to work on her people skills more. At the beginning, she told us how she doesn't like talking in front of a class, and it's very obvious that's still true. I feel like it's almost a crime to ask her a question if you don't understand. Also she just needs to get with current times.

Comment:

Very strict, everything must be done her way, even if you can demonstrate a notably better way to do it. She's also stubborn, so arguing with her about anything is completely futile. Loves rules and regulations. Her material is mostly from 2004 and she doesn't like to keep up with technology. Still uses windows xp on her desktop.

The online class is badly organized. The textbook used for the class was excellent. Unfortunately, it was used for only 60% of the class. Otherwise, the class notes and assignments was a confusing mess of links with text that sometimes has not been updated for a number of years. Unless you are a CS major, don't take this course with Prof. Breuning.

Vindictive, uneducated, and stuck in the 90s. Any current technology / code she mentioned was through videos or the textbook, changed ENTIRE PROJECTS the day before due on a whim and gave us little to no information on how to accomplish the new rubric. Avoid at all costs

You need to go to class to understand the material. She's not as bad of a teacher as the reviews make her out to be. She does move quickly but if you're not sitting on your phone like half the kids usually are you'll be able to keep up. Sometimes her due dates get confused.

Awful. Absolutely dreadful. I wish I had come to RateMyProfessors before I signed up for her class. She is clueless, useless and aggravating. I will absolutely warn other students to avoid her, if possible.

I hated her class, but aced it easily. You just have to do the work, and she's available for help if you need it. She's into group projects and powerpoints. Her textbooks and classes were really boring thoug, t it's an easy pass for a gen ed.

Awful, awful professor. I thought it would be a fun course, working with computers, but she has no idea how to teach and if you have a question, don't bother asking it. Like someone else said you'll get the deer in headlight look.
