Comment:

Its been nearly 30 years since I had class with Mr Hughes, so its been a minute. But he was one of two remarkable academics from whom I had the pleasure of learning so much while at SCCC. A true diamond in the rough. I learned a lot from him. His best lesson to me was the simplest: Keep learning. Which I have. And I am. Thank you David Hughes.

This guy gave you what he wanted on his essay, allowed you to write it and hand it in early so he could tell you what to put on the actual essay. Anyone who says he wasnt helpful obviously has no communication skills of any kind. Also, he did insult the ignorant students, not just random people. One of the best teachers at SCCC

Dr. Hughes is quite possibly the best professor I've ever had. I would defiantly take a class from him again. It wasn't an easy class, but I always learned so much. He is hilarious and I highly recommended him!

Hughes is very funny, and prepares you well for the tests. You need to get the big picture, not just memorize events to do well. He will probably say something that offends you at some point when on a tangent, just let it go by. He talks like that to keep the class interesting. Never enjoyed history before Hughes. Recommended.

Mr. Hughes is an og. Very hilarious, makes alot of jokes, very entertaining class. He doesn't make fun of anyone in his classes. The quizzes are cake and the test are a little hard, just have to study and go to him for help and hell basically write your outline for you for the test question. Highly recommend taking any of his classes.

Great teacher! Very sarcastic and knows how to make the class laugh. He doesn't load you with homework and he also drops your lowest grade. I recommend him for American History to 1877 and for any other history course.

this guy is halarious, an absolute must have for history of any kind. he's awesome. I guarentee you cant get an A+ in this class, but he's very kind hearted, and hes got so many "did you knows" about history its amazing.

Narcistic and egotistical. Loves to hear himself speak. Pretty obnoxious and impolite. Uses an ancient script for the class but fills up half of every class talking trash about SCCC, his 4 sons, students and historical figures. A complete moron who has spent 35 years saying the same thing in every class. It was a living hell listening to him!

You'll hate him at first but he'll grow on you like a fungus. He is flighty, quick-witted, sarcastic, easily annoyed, and often takes pleasure in making fun of others. However, he is also patient, fair, a historical genius, and the most fun you will ever have in any history class. He not only knows his stuff, but knows how to make it funny.

He's alright, I mean everyone who wrote something about him kindof gives the wrong impression. 1st of all, if you ask questions in class he makes a fool out of you, second always be there on time or your attendence won't be counted. He's a tough grader with essays, not so tough with tests but make sure you study.
