Comment:

Awesome history teacher! He does require you to buy usually 2-3 books but they're not textbooks, so they only cost about $10 for a new copy and can be found much cheaper if you buy used. The main grades are 2-3 books reports which are pretty easy if you read the books and a midterm essay and a final essay. Wish I could take him for every class.

Professor Owens is an absolute gem of an instructor, Marshall Uni is lucky to have him. I must admit, I found myself checking him out rather than taking notes. His British accent and svelte body made for a challenging course to get through. Dreamy guy, excellent teacher. Too bad Im going to school for nursing and not history.

Comment:

Professor Owens is one of my favorite professors at Marshall University. He is a wonderful, caring guy and he is extremely intelligent. He does lecture through the whole class period and it is important to take notes. You will always have three book reports on three books of his selection. You will also have quizzes each week, midterm and final.

Owens is an amazing professor! He is hilarious and actually makes history enjoyable. It is very easy to get interested when he is teaching.

I LOVE Owens! He is a VERY interesting man and his lectures are always packed full of interesting information. He is quite hilarious and does not mind pissing students off. His accent makes the class that much more interesting. :) You will have to read 3 books, and write reports on them. Do what he asks and you'll pass. Strongly recommend this man

I had him for 231 and 230 I enjoyed the class. He is very funny. I got a C the first time and dedicated a little more time to studying and got a B the second. Quite handsome as well.

Very interesting class! You learn so much! Owens is a great teacher and very knowledgable! Expect to take a ton of notes in this class! The weekly quizzes on the readings aren't too bad. Exams are difficult, but he does provide a good study guide for each test! I would recommend this class for sure!

Owens is hilarious. We had to read for small texts and take an essay test on them, but as long as you showed that you at least opened the book, you got an A. Made me actually interested in the class (a very hard thing to accomplish with me and history)

This has been my favourite prof. at MU so far. He's witty and entertaining. He can occasionally talk too much, but I don't mind. He grades fairly, is very intelligent, clear about assignments, and not bad looking either.
