I so longed and anticipated for this class to start. Apparently I picked the wrong instructor. She was never helpful and she just kept shooting all my ideas down saying they were too big or over the top. And she was rarely actually in class. Any third or fourth years I spoke to said that she isn't a good first or second year prof. TAKE THIS ADVICE!

Dee is absolutely hilarious, fun and spirited. She is always willing to help you and encourages you to go beyond your limits, perhaps sometimes TOO far. Assignments and the course outline very never very strict nor rigidly followed, her grading methodology was very unclear. Didn't provide clear evaluations, but was never unfair.

She is easily offended, and seems bitter. She exaggerates her skill-set too, she is not a Goldsmith, that is a professional affiliation, she has only a BFA. Her work is stuck in the '70's.

Greatest teacher alive. Although a little crazy and safety conscious, she makes class super fun. Students are encouraged to be unique. She brings us to gallery openings. An assignment was to have business cards made.

A little scatterbrained, but this rarely gets in the way of her teaching. Extremely safety-conscious, and always willing to help you out. Class is such that you can leave early or come in late, but most people like it too much to do so.

She is such a maniac, but it definatly keeps you interested in the class. She knows what do to, and knows how to solves problems. She is very involved in college and city, and definatly a teacher to look up to.

I think classes with Dee are a lot of fun and really informative. she makes metalsmithing seem so much less stressful than the other instructors and it's a refreshing atmosphere in a sometimes anal program. she's fun and a little crazy and I think she's great.

Very good at helping you get used to some of the sometimes frightening aspects of jewellery and do it safely. excellent crits and professional practices advice too
