This professor is horrible. His directions are clear, but when you follow them exactly he still marks points off. His feedback on the assignments is so unclear. He talks in circles and never answers your question. He marks points off for elements you have. He thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread and it shows. Worst teacher I have EVER had

Great class very informative. The course was set up and conducted well and very easy to know exactly what you are suppose to do even if you have never taken online classes.

Professor Helms is the worst professor period! I took his online fast track class, and I wish I would have dropped it. He assigns a lot of homework, quizzes, and discussions that he wants cited with reputable sources. Believe me it is ridiculous, equivalent to citing a text message. I completed every single assignment and still received a D.

I took Dr. Helms online class, it was a class that had plenty of useful knowledge to gain and actually apply to life. If you know how to read and manage your time this class is an easy A. He really wants his students to learn and better their life's so you have to put forth effort, but it is a 3 unit class. Don't let the lazy people trick you.

Worst professor I've ever taken. Will argue with you till the cows come home without ever actually giving you useful advice as to how to succeed in his class. Assigns more work than any professor I've had in the past. This is not an "elective" sort of class. I got better grades in my math courses and I don't even understand math.

I took his 6 week summer course and it was really not a lot of work. He is quick to respond and gives a clear criteria of what he expects. Read ALL the modules because he hides needed information in them for your assignments to make sure you're paying attention. Really great teacher and very informative! Would take him again! Order book in advance.

I took Dr. Helms' course and although it was difficult and there was a lot of work the material is laid out and organized well. For those who gave negative reviews it is clear they are unwilling to put forth any real effort and only expect grades handed to them like the welfare living frauds they are.

this is the worst professor i have ever worked with. Too much work, the stress he lays on students is not worth taking his class. He is angry and frustrated when asked a question that he thinks students should be able to understand. Not understanding, hates anyones opinion but his own. I have a 4.0 GPA and he ruined it because he just wont help.

IN his online class you feel more like you are in a self-help group instead of a college course. He's going to ask you your age, BMI and health questions. he's going to make you journal and he's going to try to improve your life instead of teach you about human heath. Not a bad teacher, just expect a class that invades your personal life.

If you're going to bust your but for a class at least let it be a core class and not an elective. 7 tests, 31 quizzes, and 10 journals (all intense). If you try to fix a mistake on a 50pt+ project he won't bother checking it, he'll just give you lip and make you redo it. It's not worth it for a 6 week elective course, believe me.

This was the hardest class I have ever taken. Over 100 quizzes because there are 31 unit quizzes but he requires you to take them multiple times, over 10 tests, 10 journals 1 due every week, 2 essay papers with detailed graphs, 2 group discussion boards you must participate in even if no one else participates in, he knock you down in points.

This was the hardest class Ive ever taken. Over 30 quizzes, over 10 tests, plus journals every week, plus 2 papers, plus 2 group discussion boards you must participate in. All for a 6 week course. If you fall behind you might as well drop. He is very active on blackboard, so if you need help he will be there. But other than that goodluck...

took the online family nutrition 8 week fast track class. A lot of work but that is expected from a fast track class. He sets up a good guide for you to follow weekly. test are easy if you did the reading and he lets you retake the quizzes as many times as you'd like. Easy pass unless you blow off the work and fall behind.

I really loved Professor Helms. There was a ton of work that needed to be done in this fast track course, but it was all very easily handled with a bit of organization. I think he is an excellent teacher and a quality person. I got a lot out of this class and I would take him again for another class. It was an easy A for me.

He is good teacher but the amount of work he assigns you is ridiculous. I took the online short term class and just in itself, I took 30+ quizzes, 7 tests, 12 journals, and 2 long "dietary plan" essays. The final is CRAZY; asks 100 questions in an hour and a half. Not worth it unless you just want the credit because I didn't learn anything.

He is a powerful speaker and very informative. This was a hybrid class so we met once a week and rest was online. He is very clear of deadlines and homework. Would recommend to anyone who wants to learn. Yes there is homework but nothing our of the norm. He is fair and available for help. Answers emails quickly. He is an A++ teacher

I really loved the class, he's really funny and I liked hearing his leisure. It's an easy class and the syllabus is easy to follow as what you need to do. There's a lot of work and a lot of hands on challenges, write-down what you eat, exercises, BMI, Diet, but I really enjoyed it. He uses the older book to save money for the students.

A lot of work, Journals, reading, Quiz on every chapter, 10 tests, 2 projects. Class is lot of work in short time. Teacher gets right back with you, syllabus tells you all the work with time line to turn in. Enjoyed all the material and teacher, met 4 times for the class, he's very funny, class was entertaining.

A lot of busy work. Journals that you have to keep up with the entire semester. Some random credit assignments in class. Towards the middle of the semester I stopped going to class since it was such an easy course. Lowest test is dropped. Final is quiz questions that you do all semester long. Hardest part of class is all the writing!
