Took her for Stats last fall & it turns out she's only rough around the edges & intimidates you into working hard, which you definitely should. Throughout the semester she turned out to super kind, and she's very passionate about her subject. I learned SO much from her. Ask her questions and don't be discouraged by her attitude; she will help you.

Tests are extremely hard, open book, but don't expect to find the answers there, 100s of homework questions each week using a terrible online textbook. Sends way to may emails. Assigned required homework during spring break. Replies to questions with rude responses.

Took online psych, DO NOT TAKE WITH HER. Annoyingly emails you about 172 times a day. I emailed her confused about a low grade I received and she didnt respond to me. Expects this to be your most important class & dedicate all your time. Learnsmart and quizzes are easy, she has ridiculous rules for discussions.

As someone who tends to be close with their professors, even Im extremely disappointed that I took a class with her. Shes very unhelpful and only ever replied to one out of FOUR emails I sent her throughout the ENTIRE semester. (It was to say she won't help me) Don't take her unless you're cool with being completely on your own.

Comment:

I took professor Kyle for Psych 161 and loved the class. She as an instructor can be a little discouraging at times and if she calls on you during class and you give the wrong answer she might say something rude but I learned so much from her. I took her honors research methods class last semester and although I got a C, the class was eye opening.

Took her for PSYCH 101 online. She is very clear with her instructions on assignments. There is one 4 page essay towards the end of the semester. Her tests and quizzes are easy as long as you read the chapter and take good notes other then the power points online. She really makes you think outside the box when it comes to the discussion questions.

I had the pleasure of having her and I am actually glad I took her. She was amazing! I am taking her honors class and honestly, I love how she teaches and grades everyone. Its not even hard but she gives you enough feedback to do better. That is what I love about her.

I took her class online and she is very easy. Yes you do have to think outside the box. she makes you think and go beyond. Do your part as a student and you will get the grade you want. slack off you will get C.

She is rough around the edges and very hardcore and it could be taken the wrong way. Albeit, she tries, and makes that extra effort to hear you out, and shows respect eventually, but she'll take you through "boot camp" so to speak, before she does shows it. Technically, you must prove yourself to be ethical and honest. She doesn't like cheaters.

I have had the pleasure of being Prof Kyle's student for 3 classes. I have to say, I have NEVER worked so hard in my life! But I also have NEVER learned so much, either. Prof Kyle has prepared me for any class that comes my way. If you want to pass her class, show up, pay attention, and ask for help-she would never turn her back on you!

I am not going to lie, she is tough, but that is what makes her great. As a psych major you need to know this! Don't know APA, you will! Don't know SPSS and how to write substantive conclusions, you will! There is a lot of work in this class and if you do not come to work well then don't come. Know research methods, get the APA book! Love her!

Ms. Kyle is misunderstood, I think. She is very smart and knows her stuff. Usually she lectures the whole time but the content is fun and she jokes around, a lot! I noticed Sometimes she thinks you're being rude when you're not She's been teaching for a long time. Class got me interested in per suing social psychology further.

She is not very approachable with questions, often comes with a backhanded comment that belittles you. However if you email her she is then helpful. If you are not ready to teach yourself do not take the class. I however learned a lot but through my own determination, not enough time for lecture, and tells you book is wrong, for conclusions!

Excellent course, super engaging discussion. Requires us to think deeply and make good use of the sources provided. Sometimes a bit unhelpful, but when help is received it is insightful and thoughtful. She always responds to emails. Is very humorous. She makes us become good critical thinkers! A lot of work but very (very) worth it.

Get ready for a semester of hell. I needed this class for my major and was actually very interested prior to taking! However, after having to spend too many hours teaching myself the material, I am just done. Kyle consistently makes students feel dumb for asking questions. She will often refer you to the textbook, which she wrote. This was TORTURE.

Professor Kyle is one of the best professors. She takes the time to explain everything. I never had any trouble following her lectures. This is by no means an easy class, you must do the reading, all homework, ASK FOR HELP if you need it. Professor Kyle is very dedicated to her students. There is no other professor I’d recommend for this course.

Hate math, but this class is bearable. Professor Kyle is a nice woman, but is passive-aggressive and frequently unclear in her instructions. Then, when asking for clarification she tends to make you feel stupid for asking and usually ends up not actually answering your question. Take this class if you're self-motivated and you'll be okay.

This professor is awesome! I love her lectures and she's a really funny teacher. I agree that she can sometimes be mean when people ask questions, but only because their questions are quite stupid and unnecessary. She makes stats easy and understandable. I highly recommend you take her!
