Pros: Passionate about children, knowledgeable and experienced in Early Childhood. Can learn a lot from her. good videos, anecdotes, can re-do assignments and submit. Cons: struggles with presentations, does not use email, insists on printed assignments instead of soft copies, can be a bit blunt at times - might offend some students.

Many times she has negative attitude towards some students, which hurt my feelings. She doesnt respect some students. Dont expect too much from her. She cant really solve problems. She just delays problems and makes things more complex. Thats why I dont want to take her classes again.

Comment:
This was the most underwhelming class. She starts by telling us she does NOT like current elementary education, due to her past failed pursuit of being an Elementary teacher. Why teach this class then that primarily focuses on that? She shows boring videos, and reads off of badly made powerpoints. Choose another teacher for this subject.

Diane is one of my favorite instructors at De Anza College. You might occasionally feel confusing of her instructions during the class, but if you would like to ask her questions and talk about your concerns and thoughts, you'll find out that she is a very thoughtful, kind-hearted, and wit person. She pays attentions to students who need extra help

What she asks isn't clear, she Says one thing then changes her mind later when you already did the assignment. I wouldn't not take her again even if I need to wait a year to take the class or elsewhere. Lots of long papers, seem pointless.

I haven't encountered Such a bad teacher in all my time as a student. I don't know why she still teaches despite her age. The Bay Area is a diverse area and she is not fit to live in the Bay Area. The work she assigns will take up your entire weekend and will be miserable

This teacher looks nice, but she is very disorganized and gives you a very bad grade if she doesn't agree with your opinions. I have never seen a teacher like her. Do't take her class!!!!

Today we had a final. One of her "extra credit" questions in the final paper was: parenting is high in control, the outcome of the children would be? She provided 4 choices, but the choices only had 2 ethnic groups,Africa-American and Asian. What? The children could be any race. Why she only let us choose one from Africa-American and Asia?

She should retire from this field. Her ppt are all disorganized and they included some misleading informations, such as she taught us that Yin is positive and Yang is negative. I'm Chinese, and every Chinese knows that Yin is negative and Yang is positive. If she does not understand what she is teaching, she should go home.

Very easy A. Plus I also learned a lot during her class. If you have to take a CD course, pick one of her's for sure. Open notes on tests and lectures were actually fun and interesting. Will definitely take another class of her's in the future.

Nice teacher. She accepted late work but try to not fall behind otherwise you will have a whole lot of work to do by the end. You'll fail if you miss any assignment. She actually gave us comments on our work which was cool. Definitely recommend her.

She clearly cares about teaching, which is nice. Assignments are time consuming. Ridiculously easy multiple choice tests-- you can bring notes, and it's all right out of lectures. Overall, easy class with a lot of busy work. OH, if you miss even one paper though, you'll FAIL, but she does take late work. She's a little forgetful. Class was alright.

Easy quizzes but arduous written reports you write after you observe children. Take this class if you like kids, don't want hard tests and are willing to put effort and time into 5-6 written assignments.
