She is awful. One of the worst professors to take at Hofstra. She doesn't explain anything clearly and gives multiple definitions for one word. Its so confusing and she doesn't help students at all. Not even worth taking because It WILL lower your GPA. She always nags students and she's a pain.

SHE IS A BRILLIANTLY HELPFUL PROFESSOR. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS SHE ASK THEM AND ANSWERS CLEARLY. SHE IS AN OK GRADER BUT SHE GIVES YOU WHAT YOU DESERVES AND IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT YOU CAN DISCUSS IT WITH HER. Unruh is a very abrasive woman. She cares about her students and the way she treats us in the classroom. She has a good heart, but sometimes she comes across as a little judgmental. Her class was informative and interesting but you need to work hard. She could sometimes get annoying because she does treat some people like children.

This woman is an inspiration to me. She's very difficult and does treat us like children sometimes but it's not intentional. She always makes sure that we don't have a big issue with the way she teaches. I think that if you want to look at education and life differently, take this class. She teaches a lot. I would love to take this class again!

Most boring class i have ever been apart of, half the class is always sleeping. this is basically a black history class, every topic or subject learned in this class is about black people and there perspective. the class is extremely repetitive and annoying/frustrating. professor Unruh is a crazy, controlling, stuck up little lady on a power trip.

She is the best professor I have had at Hofstra. Anyone who says otherwise probably did terrible in her class because there lazy, and don't want to be bothered with the work. She goes over everything in class so I don't understand how you could possibly do bad. She can be hard but its not impossible. Shes a very hopeful & inspiring teacher.

This lady acted like a psychopath when I was in SUS and she was the director. Not sure if she still is or not, but all I know is that SUS back then was a huge waste of time. (not sure how it works now). You can be sure you wont be graduating in 4 years because the stupid elective classes leave you so far behind on your core and major courses!

She is very intelligent and the class is interesting most of the time. She does not assign a lot of work. She babies her students a little bit and she is constantly stopping movies for discussion. She is a very caring teacher. You will enjoy her class if you participate and read the readings which are actually interesting. I enjoyed her class.

Prof. Unruh is the best professor I've ever had. She wants to see you doing hard work, showing up on time to clas everyday, which is why I suspect some of the comments on here or negative. But she is an extremely intellignet, wonderful professor and if you show her that you care, she'll do anything for you. Recommended. She can change your life.

Elizabeth is a witty&very respectful professor.She only gave us 2books 2read for the entire semester.The class is easy as long as u do the reading&try 2participate.If u don't participate she will call on u 2make sure you're actually doing the reading &if you are'nt she can make u feel inadequate 2the others.But,luckily I don't have that problem.

This teacher is out of her mind. She is an egotystical person. The looks she gives are vicious. She thinks who she is. She is about 4 foot 2 inches with hair not longer then her ears. You could crush her, this is probably why she is on a power trip. She talks poorly about the administration and thinks she is the best at everything. DONOT TAKE HER!!

I'm honestly surprised she's still teaching at SUS. She was an awful, rude, and power-hungry woman when I encountered her almost two years ago. FD is dwindling-- I'm not sure if she's still the Director, but she definitely has contributed to that mess, and probably still is.
